RPG Systems Family Tree?

Has anyone ever done a family tree for RPGs over time similar to the ones done for computer programming languages awhile back? It’d be an interesting visual.

Not a flowchart but Alyssa Faden did the Cosmology of Role Playing Games originally in Gygax Magazine. I think she's updated it since. I think you can get prints of it.

I keep meaning to buy the updated version; I framed the original and hung it up, I liked it so much.

Is there any way to get to it without Instagram?

Huh. I'm thinking a tree would be more informative than the cosmology, but I didn't start the thread. Anyway, D&D is the trunk of our tree  , and the next branches might be rules-moderated (GM-less), diceless, or outdoor (you're welcome, you dirty LARPers).

Who wants to start the ENWorld wikipage for the tree?

I would say that Ars Magica is a progenitor of the d20 system as well. Jonathan Tweet worked on both, and the universal resolution is pretty similar.
