Heh, I misread the power... I got as far as "only pin and hold the target immobile" and I guess my brain shut off since the very next sentence details how you can drag them around. >_<[/sblock]

Frustrated, Zenji snaps at Archeville, yelling "Are you blind? He just disappeared you senile old fool!"

"'Old'? Bah! I'm only tventy-nein! I... vait..." Archeville's eyes darted back and forth for a moment, "Aaaah.... zhe illusions must haff some form of mental component, vinking out for zhose who directly interact mit zhem, but remaining visible to zhose who don't... fascinating... und disturbing... but how could he be making zhem? Und vhere is zhe image projekto housed? Some sort of broadcast zhing? Hrrmmm...." Archeville begins murmuring to himself as he appears to be trying to figure out just how the illusionary guards are geing generated.

From atop the Science building Mr. Jones can detect a myraid of thoughts emenating from both within and without. There are men dressed with body armor and black helmets with dark visors covering their eyes and nose standing outside a side door. They are armed with oddly looking though gun-shaped weaponry and batons.

Two golf carts are parked near the door and a similarly dressed and armed man steps out with a female coed. He takes her by the arm and escourts her inside.

Jones ducks down behind the parapet and whispering into his comunicator asks, "I'm at the science building. There are a lot of guards here. They don't look like illusions, how did you find out?"

"I interacted with them, and they winked out of existence. But that said, I suspect these fellows arriving are real folks. Any chance you and HiJack can take care of them?"

Another Dr. Archeville appears before the Super Scientist "I vould theorize dat perhaps not all zings haf foundations in zee Sciences. An zat those who believe that they do should be spending less time on bratwurst und kraut und expand there thinking. the second Archeville accents his speech with a sharp nod.

"It vould zen be probible that there is someone who is generating the images... And that he has found you. "

The image of Archeville shimmers and vanishes and stepping out from behind a tree about 20ft away is a young man with short blonde hair dressed in the same garb as Jack Sparrow. In one hand he holds Zenji's sword and in the other Archeville's blaster, when he points at the duo

"The tech is a bit over the top, but this is a nice sword.

[sblock=Inner Monologue]He dares mock us?! The ignorant fool! Does he not know who we are?!

Obviously not, and before you urge any rash action, let me remind you that, after our last battle -- you know, the one with the giant man-eating plant? -- the gravimetric belt's force field isn't as strong as it was, so the blaster could indeed punch through and do very nasty things to us.

Of course, the belt! He probably wouldn't expect a tactical retreat by flying sraight up and over... no, wait, he'd still have the blaster.

And Zenji.

And Zenji... wait, the gravitic twister attachment! It can open a portal and we can dive in--

Leaving Zenji.....

Oh, fine, we can push or drag him with us... let's see, I think we're close enough we could get inside the room where the hostages are held....

That'd still leave this guy with our blaster. And Zenji's sword.

Hrm, point. Well, we could.... damn, we still don't know what all the kid can do with his staff. And even if we did, we can't coordinate anything with him in secret, since we don't know what languages he speaks, we don't have any sort of telepathic connection, and it's somewhat doubtful he'd even follow a plan.

We could surrender, see if that gets us lead to the Minister. Villains do tend to like ranting and revealing info to a captive audience; we could gather some intel. Maybe even pull the "hey, I really came to join your side!" ploy, like we did with that old guy in Dusseldorf.

Hrrmmm... well, you know I hate the though of surrendering, even temporarily, but that plan does have some merit. And it might give us a chance to beat on Zenji, to 'prove our sincerity.' Yeah, we--

'Course, if this guy's illusions are mental things -- which seems to be partially the case, since Zenji and we had different reactions when he tried to grab at it -- then it's possible he's reading Archeville's mind. And, even though we think far faster than normal folks, he may at least be able to get a partial read.

Archeville's initiative. (1d20+1 = 3)

Archeville seems temporarily paralyzed with rage and confusion.

[sblock=OOC]When it does come time for Archeville's turn, he'll be holding his action this round.

The "giant man-eating plant" thing and the "old guy in Dusseldorf" would be adventures Archeville was on before joining the Resolutes.[/sblock]

The young man levels the blaster at Zenji, "Do you know what it can do?" Drop the staff skippy or I'll see just how mad your scientest friend is."
