Oh well I had best find out if they are real or not thinks the Magician peering over the edge at the two guards below. He concentrates on the one on the left and attempts to pick out what he is thinking.

Mind reading (subtle) on one of the door guards, surface thoughts only.
Mind Reading (1d20+10=11)
[sblock=ooc]Well that's not going to work![/sblock]

Would you allow mind reading with subtle to ask questions of the guards without them realising that their thoughts are being directed?

Do you want initiative from all of us in case the groups start to interact?

Man, I wonder what the Minister is doing to those kids in there. He has that metal guy and that fast chick, you'd think they'd be enough...

OOC: that does work...when they roll abysmally...

As per mind reading you can probe their minds for information, it's another power check vs. will save.

The ruby atop Zenji's staff glows as a red aura surrounds Archeville's blaster. "Doc, catch!"

I'm using the staff's telekinesis to fling Archeville's blaster to him. As near as I can tell there's no rolls or anything (telekinesis doesn't mention anything special about attended items), but it seems kind of iffy so I leave it to your interpretation Raylis.

OOC: Treat it as a ranged disarm attempt (since that is essentially what youre doing, using Telekinesis as your medium), go ahead and roll an attack with -4 as per disarm rules (MM pg 156)

I guess I will hold off reporting this information untill after the fight is over to save messing with the time line.

The stress of the question was on whether one rank of subtle was enough to do it with out them noticing. Or if it is only lets the surface thought reading be hard to notice :>

Archville's blast rings against the Blade of Tanus, knocking it out of the boys hands, though he doesn't seem concerned.

"C'mon boys, I took your weapons from you once and I can do it with ease a second time.

Using his foot the boy kicks up the Blade of Tanus as two rushing images encircle him. When they stop there are three pirate dressed boys holding three Blades of Tanus,

"And now you don't even know where I am! his voice rings out all around the heroes.

Zenji's Turn, round 2

The subtle will definatly give you bonuses for probing them for information
