RS2: The Tokyo Problem (Velmont Judging)

The HQ
"Your teammates informed us that the boy they encountered in the park could summon creatures. I do not know if he was protecting the girl or working with her.

Titan begin to rattle off a number of questions. "Do we know anything else about the girl or the boy? What has been the nature of the monster attacks? Where do you want us to go next?", Titan pauses, "I haven't really been briefed...so maybe you can give me an idea of what has happened, and what you want the Resolutes to do"

OOC: I can re-read the thread, or you can give him as much as you want , and I'll continue to play blind.

OOC: Sorry, Salix, for some reason I thought Titan was following along in Japanese!

~ The HQ ~~
"Yes, we both -- er, all three of us -- were somewhat 'thrown in' to the situation, without much briefing," Archeville repeated in English (oddly, without much trace of his normally thick German accent). '"Any information you can give would be most helpful."

The Headquarters

"Sadly, Titan-san, we do not have much of the way of briefing, your handler also asked for more information. The past week there have been Monster attacks, in the manner of the old Godzilla movies. The twist in this is, we do not see the monsters appear or climb out of the sea, and each attack has been targeting one of my teammates.

In the attack before the one on your aircraft, Oni-Kage's vulnerability to extremley bright light was utilized and he was nearly killed. In the preceeding attack, Ronin was incapacitated. We are not a formal team as the Resolutes, and we asked for formal aid. The boy and the girl were discovered last night. As of now your teammates are looking for clues."

The Tower

<<Yes, I'm sure I would be able to tell you where to go...if you were here for the tour. Now smile and say 'cheese'>>

He levels the camera at the two.
[sblock=Sierra]
His mind seems highly resistant to mental intrustion and Sierra gets nothing from his mind.

[SBLOCK=OOC]I'm impressed that he beat her Diplomacy check with a Will Save in order to attack unprovoked--yikes![/SBLOCK]

<<You know, look at the time. I have to study for exams! So sorry for my rudeness, but see you later!>>

[SBLOCK=Actions]Teleporting out.

I'm not going to look at the SBLOCK yet because if his camera leveling came before her Mind Reading attempt (as seems possible based on the ordering above), she would teleport immediately and not Mind Read--if the camera leveling came after the Mind Reading, then everything's okay. Let me know if she did or not.

Anyway, as I said above, her next action is to Teleport out and to the last place she saw Titan and Archeville (which I believe is where they are right now--hopefully this will help bring them right into the thick of the action more quickly :)). If her Teleport is somehow thwarted, while the Diamond is active she still gets the Deflection field to protect herself and Mecha-Musume from any attacks.

"It sounds like we have no real idea where the next attack might be. I guess we should join our teammates then, any idea where they might be?", Titan says, looking towards Dr. Archeville for confirmation on the plan.

OOC: If they don't know he'll try to raise them on the Resolutes communicator.

Seeing the older man raising the camera, and gathering from his demeanor and tone that the camera is somehow able to gather information on mutant powers, Scout attempts something that she has never tried before as she attempts to subtlely 'port the camera out of his hands.

[sblock=Actions]Scout attempts to use Extra effort to teleport the camera into the Japenese 'supers' office, using her blindsight to pinpoint the camera.

I'm not 100% sure about the extra's as I don't have my books with me ... but it would be something like the following as an alternate power in her array:

Alternate Power - Teleport 10 [Mutant](2 pp/rank base + 2 pp/rank + 8 pp = 48 pp, 1 pp net) ... "Teleport objects"
Extra: Attack (+1/rank)
Extra: Affects Objects Only (+0/rank)
Extra: Range [Perception] (+2/rank)
Flaw: Action [Full round] (-1/rank)
Power Feat: Change direction (1)
Power Feat: Change velocity (1)
Power Feat: Progression [Weight x10] (3)
Power Feat: Easy (1)
Power Feat: Innate (1)
Power Feat: Subtle (1)

The basic idea: "being able to teleport sentient objects, or objects held by a sentient being."

If this works as I envision, then it should be something like:
Teleport object +Autohit (DC20 Reflex save, Range [perception], Teleport 1000')

I don't know if this should be some sort of disarm attempt, or just the reflex save, or both ... either way if you could let me know as it's one of the powers that Scout is interested in adding to her teleport array after completion of this mission =)[/sblock]

Looking into the guard's mind Gus finds an acute arachnophobia, and a fear like tension about Ichitawa. Otherwise the guard stands there, looking a bit bored as he checks badges.

OOC: I thought the guard was heading somewhere. My bad.

"On second thought, uniform is boring. I will see what man is guarding, instead."

Invisibly, Gus passes through the uniformed man, and into the room beyond him. The guard blinks back tears for a moment, remembering waking up as a child, and seeing a spider lowering itself from the ceiling, growing larger, dropping towards his unblinking eye as fear transfixed him and he was unable to move or even scream...

...and then the moment passes. "Why'd I think of that?" the guard murmurs, massaging the bridge of his nose.

"Somehow, I really dont think I want my picture taken...," Marie says.

OOC: The following action is what Marie's attempting to do. She'll still try to do it if the camera goes off and it's not a power cancellor of some sort.

[sblock=Action]Marie activates her smoke generator [Obscure Power]. Almost instantly, a sooty black cloud of smoke, smelling like burning oil, builds up behind her. She spins in a tight circle to make sure she is surrounded by the stuff. [/sblock]

Catching a glimpse of the guard's fear of Ichitawa, though, Gus peers back through the wall and takes a deeper look (Mind Reading 10) at the man's fears. What does he know about this man? Where is this object of his fear, and why is he afraid?
