RS2: The Tokyo Problem (Velmont Judging)

The Tower
Gus: The fear from Ichitawa is mostly a fear that that he will fire the guard. Gus can conclude that Ichitawa is not the most forgiving of bosses. The room beyond the guard is another elevator, but this one seems fancier.

As the man clicks the camera it disappears and a asooty black cloud of smoke, smelling like burning oil, builds up behind Maire as Sierra disappears. She spins in a tight circle to make sure she is surrounded by the stuff.

The camera appears in Scout's hands. It appears to be an older model of camera, the kind a journalist would use before digital cameras.

The HQ
<< Your allies are at the Tokyo Ichitawa Building, the headquarters for Ichitawa Industries. They left disguised, I can show you if you like?">> Kitsune's "voice" fills Archeville and Titan's head, the woman giving a slight bow.


The Park
Sierra appears back in the park at the base of the Tokyo Tower (the last place she saw Archeville and Titan) but the duo are no where in sight.

The Tower
Scout seems to flicker momentarily and as she does, the camera dissappears.

The HQ
A short, lithe, woman in resolute uniform is suddenly standing before Kitsune and hands her an older model camera. <<This is the camera that the girl carried. I believe it is Ichitawa's. It seems to allow him to analyze a super's powers. I must return.>>
She nods briefly towards the others in the room and just as suddenly as she appeared, she is gone.

then Teleport's to HQ(free action), drops off camera, and returns to her position above the lift (free action)

Then she looks at the older guy carefully with her blindsight (Is this the same person seen in the image at HQ? Ichitawa?)

Also, can Scout locate Marie with her blindsight in the smoke?[/sblock]

@Rystil Arden: Just a heads up, but since Sierra is currently a complete unknown to her, Scout is fairly likely to try to take control of Sierra's teleport powers next time she pop's in ;)[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC to Raylis, Rystil and Velmont] I think it'd take more than a moment's concentration for Sierra to find us -- even with her ESP and Mental Quickness, she has no idea where in Tokyo we are (assuming the HQ is in Tokyo proper), so it'll take time to search the area for us. ESP doesn't let you see the entire area in one go, it lets you move your senses to some point within range, as if you'd teleported there. An extended search of the entire 844-sq.-mile metropolis would take a century without her Mental Quickness (or about 14.5 days with her Mental Quickness), if my calculations are correct.[/sblock]

Archeville is momentarily stunned at all the 'portings, but is soon focused on the new toy brought in, the Metahuman Analyzing Camera. Oh, this is a delightful thing.. wonder what would happen if I pointed it at Sierra? No, no, best to do tests on low-powered subjects first... and, ideally, in a proper laboratory setting.

Then Titan spoke.

"But... but... oh, alright, let's go!"
 

[SBLOCK=OOC--HoV etc]Take a look at the search rules. You go one step up the Time and Value Progression table from 10-ft radius for each rank of Quickness

EDIT: Though I realise I was actually reading off the extended range table when I built the power, so she's actually somewhat slower than I thought. It should take her more like ten minutes worst case (that's if she picks the wrong 25pi square mile circles every time, which is unlikely). Now that I know that, I'm going to want to revise next time I can to pick up at least 4 more ranks for 2 PP.[/SBLOCK]

"Actually, it seems to fill the room with dark ash, that camera. It is bad news. If we go to visit Ichitawa, we should keep the camera somewhere safe where he can't get it back from us...or destroy it."

[SBLOCK=OOC]Ah, I knew what to do when I equalled out, as you can see in my edit, but apparently being under is not calculated based on geometry (It says 1 hour to do 1200 sq mi with Quickness 10, but if it takes 1 minute to do 78, it should be only 10 minutes or so for 800ish if you do 78 10 times.

Regardless, since this was only brought to my attention after it was approved, I'd really like to switch 2 of the other points in that alt into Quickness to patch this all up.[/SBLOCK]
