Well, if it is, as Herobizkit suggests "Artifact level"...then it would seem a quest for a suitably powerful "artifact" of opposing power (be that "Law" or "Good" is up to you) is in order.
Or, if you don't have the time or inclination, you could let them get by with just a very high level Dispel Magic immediately followed up by an assault of fireballs and lightning bolts, or a Disintegrate should probably do the trick. Only need a moment to make it spell-receptive.
