Greetings all,
Has anybody come up with some rules for NPC sage's, The D&D 3.0 & 3.5 books are horribly vague on how a sage operates. Now I have thought about using a Lore master or a Bard as the sage, even an Expert with the relevant Knowledge skills. Now my question is how long does it take to find the information?
I use the rules for librarys from the Stronghold builders guidebook (basically a relevant library will give you a modifier on your knowledge ckeck).
The reason I ask is my players have got into the habit of teleporting back to town every time they come across something that they don't understand, researching it and then going back to face whatever it was again.
Does 1 hour per point of the DC seem fair (eg: DC 30 = 30 hours)
