Rules Updates iz Up

Yeah, that was the above-mentioned "Changes Coming in Essentials" article.

But that article was not called "update" nor posted on the official update page.

Could be two explainations that I see:

1. Someone forgot to drag the file into the updates section, so the DB doesn't know about it.

2. They're waiting to put that in the official updates category until the CB is updated with that info, so it doesn't cause an insane mess when people can't make the CB do what the updates say they should be doing.

I'm rather disappointed in this update. I was expecting changes to all the Wizard's encounter powers, stat changes for PHB and PHB2 races that will not be in Essentials, and was hoping for so love for phb classes.

I guess I have to ask, would you rather have less errata or would you like to see the game constantly get better?

Notice that they didn't errata the Red Box mistakes.

No, that's just the Update for HoFK. I'm pretty sure HoFK does not have the rest of the races in there. THe November update will probably be just as small as the one last month for HoFL

I would be interested to see if they will add school designations to many different powers.

I'm not a fan of the rules updates. I do, however, think that people that pay in advance to get new material (psionic power, etc.) uploaded to their character builder and monster builder should get what they paid for.

Well, then it's a good thing that WotC will give you a refund if you ask for it. Also, no one pays for the updates. They pay for DDI. The updates to CB and MB are just a part of DDI. Now if said persons didn't get any Dragon and dungeon magazine content, CB and MB updates or couldn't access the Compendium then yes they wouldn't be getting what they paid for.

Look, the updates being late is disappointing, but it's not really that big of an issue compared to what you get. Seriously, you can pay one month of DDI get the CB and MB with access to all the crunch in the books that have been uploaded to the compendium. After that month is over you will still have access to the CB and MB content that you have downloaded. That is freakin awesome. Seriously, for less than $10 you have access to hundreds of dollars worth of books to build characters and/or monsters for as long as the software stays on your computer. To say that WotC are a bunch of [insert bad name here] because they missed a deadline is ridiculous.[/rant]

Lucky for WotC that no one has actually paid for monthly updates. No where in that package is a monthly update gauranteed.

Funny enough. WotC are such horrible, unclassy folks that they have the gall to give people refunds upon request anyway.
