Rules Updates iz Up

Since we're all back on the "WotC didn't give me the update I paid for!" topic here again...

I was somewhat disappointed that it took me nearly three weeks to get my Character Builder in working order(Wizards custserv helped me as much as they could, which unfortunately did not fix the problem... I had to resort to other measures), only to discover that the Dark Sun update had not arrived for the upcoming game I was to be playing that would include material from it.

However, I did see that they were offering refunds... so... I asked for one and got it. I'm happy with that. I'm actually rather impressed they're giving out refunds like that. It's pretty good customer service, given what I'm reading it about not being in the contract, etc...

Now, it is STILL a disappointment that it's not there, but it's not like Blizzard where you might not get to play(WoW) the whole bloody day because they broke something updating a patch and you can't leave Dalaran or something... without getting anything as a consolation.

I'd say that's pretty good of Wizards to give the refund. Especially since I intend for that money to go right back to them later anyhow, it just stretches my dollar(which I appreciate because I am struggling with work at the moment... anyone in the Susquehanna valley in PA looking for fine cutlery? :P).

So, I'm not sure why we're all still on that... though if people need to vent, better here than haranguing some poor custserv guy who wasn't even directly involved with what everyone is upset about. :P

No, it's better to vent here AND with the custserv rep, you get twice the satisfaction ;)

I played wow from launch until the end of burning crusade. Blizzard's policy was that if, by any fault of their's, the game became unplayable they would not deduct those days from your 30 day subscription. So, if you payed for 30 days, and the servers went down for two days, your account would be active for 32 days.

Weird. I don't think I got the 3-4 days each month WoW becomes unplayable(patch tuesdays, their fault, not mine), back. So, do patchdays somehow count as my fault?

The terms of use say that you only get comped if the service is unexpectedly down for 72 or more hours. So if they ever comp you for less, or comp for a day that they predicted they'd be down for, they're being nice.

It was pretty underwhelming. I am still waiting for fixes to certain broken psionic powers like Mind Thrust and Dishearten.
