Although I am personally boycotting WOTC, I will definitely buy a GI Joe RPG if they ever come out with one.

I helped (mainly in small ways) on getting a GI Joe d20 forum up and running (other forum).
That all said I don't want to add fire to this rumor but I did get an email from someone wanting are source material say a few weeks to a month ago. (It might have been more or less time) The email address wasn’t from someone obviously important like so_and_so@hasbro.com or so_and_so@wizards.com but I am rather curious now… I doubt it was anything important from a “respectable” company but I guess you just don’t know.
I do think that as much as I love d20 that Hasbro would be tempted to do something a little simpler to attack younger players.

I'm been resisting the urge to say this, not wanting to start a D20 Modern vs Spycraft argument, but...
I think GI Joe would work better with Spycraft...if only because you would START at a Joe level at level 1 (Even if just a rookie Joe), rather then have to get to at LEAST prestige level to qualify in D20 modern. Spycraft just seems more able to handle the 'over the top' action in GI Joe then the more 'gritty' feel in D20 modern. That plus Spycraft has Flamethrower mastery.
