Now THERE'S someone who can legitematly use Cha as a dump stat! :)

Hmm...Strong2 / Fast 2 / Soldier 2 / Martial Artist 3 / Spec Ops 3 / Ninjitsu Master 8?

One could certainly argue for levels in Infiltrator, too.

And I dunno...Snake-Eyes has certain limitations on his ability to communicate, but he has a very commanding presence. And his face is fixed now...

No question, the typical Joe would start above 1st — although it would be interesting to play a “Special Training Unit” of newbies, 3rd level or so, led by one of the classic Joes.

I played a Snake-Eyes/Stormshadow related PC in a Joes-of-the-future game on the boards a while back. This was how I statted him up:

Name: Robert Thomas Arashikage
Codename: Silent Snake

Sex: Male
Date of Birth: March 15, 1989
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 180 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Ethnicity: Asian-American (Japanese/Chinese heritage)
Distinguishing Features: Robert bears a tattoo with the symbol of his clan on his right forearm, a hexagram in red with the pattern:

_ _
___
_ _
___
_ _
___

Grade: Sergeant
Primary Specialty: Covert Operations
Secondary Specialties: Infantry

Robert belongs to a long line of ninjas, but he was born and raised in California and only learned of his family's past three years ago. The child of a Japanese father and a Chinese mother, he took karate growing up to gain the self-confidence needed to survive being half-Japanese in San Francisco's Chinatown. Since he's learned of his past, Robert has begun instruction in other martial arts. He even hopes to master the katana one day. Robert signed up for the military at 18, and excelled in personal combat and "sneaker" skills. Joining the elite Rangers, Robert distinguished himself and was selected to join the rebuilt Team Bravo.

Cool stats! Where can I find advancement blocks for spec ops and ninjitsu master? GI Joe D20 would be cool.

Spec Ops is in the Urban Arcana web enhancement. "Blood and Guts" has a more detailed treatment of different Spec Ops groups ---Snake-Eyes was a Vietnam-era Ranger LRRP before he studied ninjitsu.

Ninjitsu Master is from the outstanding "Blood and Fists" martial arts supplement.

If you played with just the core d20 Modern book, maybe he'd be more like Strong2 / Fast 2 / Soldier 3 / Infiltrator 3 / Martial Artist 10.

Or something like that.

Yeah, my PC was creating using just standard d20 Modern, no extras. And given the level 6 starting point, I wanted to make sure I had the basics covered. He would have eventually taken some Soldier as well.

jeez I hope this happens

GI Joe is my entire childhood, save fora tiny sliver that was Transformers!

I even imported the devious Baron James McCullon Destro, weird face-molding silver mask and all into my D&D game as an opportunistic noble with an old family curse...

*crosses fingers* please please please please please!

AAaaaaugh!

Guys, you're killin' me here :p.

As a long time fan of GIJoe, I've systematically added feats and prestige classes to Spycraft to cover everybody in the Joes (and most of Cobra). I read every file over at YoJoe.com looking for more cool stuff to create for Spycraft. I've got levels picked out for most of them, and key feat choices listed. (and since Spycraft characters are about half again as tough level for level, most of the named, senior joes work just fine at 8th-11th level, and a 3rd level newbie Joe - your new guy if you were campaigning, maybe - has got serious capabilites...)

Prestige classes might be a little tricky to use in d20 Modern, but feats are easy to 'port. Come on. Try me! Name any of the team and see what I've got lined up that would fit them. I mean come on, the Slammer is a kick-butt tank driving class :D! Dusty takes the Desert Training feat. Zartan is a model Faceman, couple levels of Ninja, with the Wild Talent feat for the Body Sculpting psion skills so he can do his camoflauge shtick (and rack up a nice Disguise bonus along the way) and Archery Basics and Archer Mastery feats for his signature kill. Spirit doesn't just have Track, the Mystic feat gives him an extra little unseen edge, and Duke is the poster-boy for the (NCO) officer class. The guy gives out extra hitpoints to his teammates as a moral bonus (he's just that cool). The new martial arts feats in Pan Asia include as some of their highest level choices 'Hard Master' and 'Soft Master'. Hello!?!

I'll be happy to bring over some examples and text you can take back to d20Modern if you'd like to play GIJoe now rather than sometime in late 2004 ;).
