"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was precisely the vibe I wanted to convey with the Cloud Step rune state.
I see what you mean about Int, but I wanted previous RP powers to be available, and those were all Con or Wis. Plus, "enlightenment" is more about Wisdom than Intelligence. And if you watch the scene in "Hero" where Broken Sword is painting the kanji while the calligraphy school is under attack, he's very lost into the action, very intuitive. So Wisdom makes sense.
Aye, as I said, was a very minor complaint and one directed more at WotC for the initial design than anything. Just kind of funny when the untrained Wizard is almost as knowledgeable as the trained RP.
As I said though, the article as a whole is fantastic. Of course, my RP just so happens to be set in a setting that is very much inspired by Asian culture so it is even more fitting!
As for RPs as a whole, I really like the class personally. Sure, they definitely have their issues (rune feats and fiddly bits being chief amongst them) but to me they really do fit nicely and are very fun to play.
