Running Events at GenCon

From the GC Indy site >GM Information: "The Gamemaster must turn in all tickets, including generics, to Event HQ at the conclusion of the convention. They should be separated per event and there will be envelopes available for this purpose. The envelopes must be labeled with the Event's Custom Game ID number and the GM's name and number of players and must include all tickets collected, including any generics. Or the GM may mail the tickets collected to the Gen Con offices following the convention. The street address is 120 Lakeside Ave., Suite # 100, Seattle, WA 98122. This applies to independent Gamemasters as well as those contracted by a game manufacturer. Game manufacturers may opt to collect all tickets from all of their contracted GM's and return these in a bulk shipment or spreadsheet form (contact Gen Con for details).
No ticket reimbursements will be made without the tickets collected being properly labeled and turned in."

Interesting. So, what you're saying is that if I run a game, and collect generics, I can be paid to run games at GenCon? Fascinating.

Well, I probably would have had this information last year, but they screwed up my account. No one had my badge. They didn't have it at the dealer booth, the GM booth, or the gamer booth, even though I had prereg'ed a long time back. Henceforth, I wasn't given any information about the proper procedure.

Chris, you rule as always.

As for the original poster. I suggest taking the RPGA Herald Level Test and running RPGA Modules at gencon.

This has multiple benefits.

A. They do the organizing for you.
B. They give you the adventure.
C. If you run 4 events you get into gencon free.
D. If you run 7 or more you get a free hotel room (roomed with someone else)

For a first timer, I really recommend running for them.
