I limited resting to 2 short rests and 1 long rest.
I ran 2 13th-level groups with magic items through it. 1 PC died in the second game. My goal was not to kill everyone but to enjoy the story though.
I used passive perception extensively and integrated clues about traps and stuff (i.e. pit traps) into the descriptions of the room. The players had to pick up on the descriptions and investigate things more closely to discover what they actually were.
