S3: The Scythe of Seto (Bront Judging)[Completed]

Ogrin grins as the huge spider collapses. As its thrashing subsides, his grins turns into a grimace as he learns of the new threat. He runs towards the carriage, tumbles underneath it, and comes up standing just beside Banion. Seeing the swarming spiders for the first time, he readies his shield and stands ready for any attack that may come.

ooc: IC isn't working for me at the moment, but Banion would like to fight defensively, throwing a mindblade at a medium spider.

Round 3 (con't)
Eusebius, seeing the large spider go down, turns his attention to Raseriet, the spider killer, and heals the majority of the damage those long fangs inflicted.

Banion hurls a mindblade at a medium spider, striking a solid blow from the monster, which makes no noise, but bursts forth significant amounts of black ichor. (10 dmg)

The little spiders swarm in to attack the closest things they can find. They zip across the webs, over roots, and under bushes. Three attack Banion, one Reinert, three one of the wagon's horses, one, another, and one bites at Razh's horse. Two manage to sink their fangs into the closest horse, and another bites and holds onto Falaire's leg. (Falaire takes 4 pts dmg, the wagon horse takes 1. Each must make Fort save DC 12 or lose 1d4 Str. The wagon horse saves successfully.)

Round 4
Reinert squacks as the spider closes on him. He does drop his crossbow, whip out his axe, and smash down at it. Instead, his axe imbeds in the wood of his own wagon.

Ogrin dashes to the rescue, tumbling underneath the wagon, and coming up to strike down the pesky arachnid.

Rasereit continues his devistating assault on all vermin, slicing easily through the three largest of the spider babies, and clearing the roadway of living enemies.

Beamer has no doubt his companions could finish off the rest of these spiders on their own. He considers for a moment simply keeping a lookout for more trouble, but seeing his friend facing down three dog-sized spiders, he is unable to resist dashes across the roadway to help. He tosses a blob of acid at the nearest spider next to Banion.

Round 3: Falaire resists the spiders' poison.

Round 5: Rasereit moves forward, cutting down the small spiders near Reinert's horses with astonishing speed, shouting, "Leave 'em alone, nasty buggers!"

OOC: Rolls, 3 sure hits, plenty of damage to incapacitate and probably kill.

Eusebius climbs up onto the wagon and moves to stand next to Reinert. Once, twice the hungry teeth of his spiked chain flash as he attacks the small spiders below. The first strikes true. The second flies wide as Reinert stumbles against him and spoils his aim!

Beamer moves in to help his friend, and slings a blob of acid onto one of Banion's attackers.

Eusebius leaps up onto the wagon and strikes one of the little monstrosities with his chain, killing it. Banion (NPCed) kills another.

The spiders fight on, mindlessly. One manages to sink its little fangs into Banion's leg. Though it doesn't do much damage (1 pt), its poison could hurt. (Fort Save DC 10 or lose 1d3 str.)

Round 5
Reinert leaps off the wagon, shouting obsenities in dwarven. His axe smashes one of Banion's attackers. Razh cuts down another. Then the last goes down in a flurry of chains and mindblades.

The group finds no treasure. With some hacking, though, they can clear the path of webs, and continue.

Rasereit, chest heaving, muscles twitching, stands dripping with spider ichor. As his rage leaves him, his head droops and his eyes lose their red tinge. He squishes the crunchy arachnid body of one of the small spiders beneath his foot. "Ah hate bugs," he says with a meaningful look at Ogrin. He does his best to clean his axe and shield on the grass, but not before he hacks away the web blocking the road.

"Oi, Beamer, ye got any o' that cleanin' magic? Ah could use a bit," he asks, a little embarrassed.

After he's cleaned up, he finds his horse and brushes her mane in an uncharacteristically gentle manner. "Ye did good, lass. Falaire... Ah didn't know it 'til now, but that's yer name, isn' it. Falaire, ye're a right beauty..." He strokes her muzzle while the others recuperate, and he's ready to go.

Eusebius assists with the clean-up, and will offer Hyrag's healing to whomever is in need.

"Yes, Ras, I suppose I do." Beamer casts a prestidigitation spell to clean up the gore from everyone.
