Ogrin attempts to push his horse to attack the monstrosity. His lack of skill and experience with this sort of combat is apparent, though; the horse is skittish and obviously not happy with being near the spider.
Instead, he resorts to his ordinary tactics - attempt to outsmart the spider to get into a good position for a stab or slash with his sword. The spider doesn't really seem to react to his feints, and Ogrin deduces it's just not smart enough to be outsmarted.
Still. he feels exhilarated by his newfound speed and manages to land two solid blows, the later one cutting off one of the spiders legs! Finally, he urges his skittish horse to move to be able get into a flanking position.
[sblock=Rolls]I'll go out on a limb and assume the spider has less than AC23. Ogrins hits all hit AC 22 or higher.
First attack hits AC 22 and does 9 points of damage.Unless the spider beats Sense Motive DC 22, another 6 points of damage. Never mind, feint doesn't work against creatures without intelligence.
Second attack hits AC 29 and is a critical if AC 22 is a hit. Normal damage is 5, add 9 if crit is confirmed.

I've tried reading up horse movement, and it appears that Ogrins attempts to push the horse to attack doesn't cause the horse to lose any actions, which means I should be able to use its full round action for a withdraw. Since you're saying the spider only threatens 5ft, that means Ogrin should be able to withdraw to a location from where he can urge his horse to take a 5ft step and then flank together with Razh (assuming none of them move).
Tangential: Just so you know, since we moved into our new house a few months ago, I've killed maybe 5-10 of the largest spiders Sweden has to offer. Figures I'd get good hits in on this one as well
