OOC: Rasereit delays until Initiative count 14 (after Beamer).

OOC2: I don't think Beamer can dismount as a free action for 2 reasons: A) The Ride check to dismount as a free action is DC 20, and B) A character can only dismount "a mount of up to one size category larger than [the character]", and since Rasereit's horse is large and Beamer is small, he can't even attempt the check.

Round 1:
Rasereit delays to allow Beamer to dismount.

Reinert jerks back on his reins and his horses break free of the web, stepping back about 5 feet.

Beamer casts haste & dismounts (as a move action). The haste spell affects the whole party, including Reinert.

A listen check DC 8 reveals the following
[sblock] something big is coming North of Eusebius.
Also, same listen check DC 17 reveals
[sblock]small thing(s) are coming from the South of Eusebius[/sblock][/sblock]

Initiatives

Reinert
Beamer
Rasereit
Eusebius (mage armor)
Ogrin
Banion
Invisible wizards & spiders

Rasereit hears the crashing sound coming from the north and shouts, "Look out, E'!" He waits a tick for Beamer to hop off, then charges his mount forward, hoping to take the point.

OOC: Is Rasereit's warhorse included in the haste spell? I assumed no, but if it is, double all speeds referenced below.

Actions: Control mount with knees, made (17) DC 5 Ride check (free), using warhorse's 70' move speed to hopefully engage the enemy. If 70' is enough, here is Rasereit's single waraxe attack at the end of the warhorse's movement: hits AC 29, 13 damage (forgot haste spell bonus in attack roll math).

If 35' is enough to reach the foe, then the warhorse will also make an attack (but I'm guessing the distance is more than 35').

OOC2: After reading the rules on skills, I see that it was silly to make a Ride check, since Rasereit can never fail a DC 5 check. =P

OOC: With a +7 to Listen, Eusebius makes the DC 8 check automatically. Unfortunately, I can't log on to IC at the moment, so will have to wait before trying for the higher DC, and determining E's action.

All the ruckus wakes Ogrin from is reverie. He's instantly alert and aware of the bigger threat closing in on Eusebius. He spurs his horse forward in Rasereits wake.

OOC: Will have a hard time posting for a few days. just in time for combat :-P Rae, feel free to NPC Ogrin - you know the attack routine: feinting and flanking :-)
