Rnd #2:

Eusebius steps up behind Reinert. Surprisingly, though, he doesn't reach down to heal Beamer but rather brings up his hands in a gesture which channels immense energy into Rasereit's body. The dwarf is filled with a potency which makes him even deadlier than before.

OOC: 5 foot step to D6 and cast Bull's Strength on Razh. I don't know if that'll affect the round 2 or round 3 results but here's hoping.

Rnd #3:

Then the cleric grabs the fallen halfling, drags him away from the fighting, and beseeches Hyrag's blessing on him.

OOC: Drag Beamer 5 feet back, then cast CLW. Scythe of Seto: CLW on Beamer: (1d8+3=11)

OOC: If we're ret-conning it, Eusebius' bull's strength on Razh would up his Round 2 damage from 12 damage to 14 damage, and in Round 3, his 19 would become a 21, which may hit for 9 damage

Thanks, Boddynock, I think its best to simply reverse the two actions...

Round 2 (con't)
Eusebius moves up behind Reinert and cures Beamer of the worst of his wounds. Beamer comes to, so full of fear that his only thought is to flee this accursed cave.

Round 3 (con't)
Ogrin pulls a fighting retreat from the invisible dog, maneuvering behind the hag, and slicing her with his magical blade.

Eusebius shifts his attention to Rasereit, and blesses him with Hyrag's strength. Razh advances on the hag, attacking wildly with his axe and shield. His blade deflects off the hag's eerily tough skin.

The Hag is looking pretty ragged, and she withdraws from combat, moving South swiftly and nimbly. She dashes into the darkness, though enough light penetrates the cave that those watching can see her just splash into the water at the edge of the cave.

Banion moves in after her, but can't keep within 30 feet w/o getting dangerously close to the dog. He hurls his mindblade, but it smacks ineffectually into the dark stone wall over the Hag's head. Reinert steps back to allow Banion in, feeling uncertain of what to do.

The dog pursues Ogrin. The vague shape that he can't focus on lunges at him. It can't sink its teeth into the quckfooted rogue, though.

Beamer...

[SBLOCK=Ruleslawyering]The withdraw action only prevents an AoO for the first 5ft of movement, so either Razh or Ogrin (or both!) should manage to get one in.

Should it be Ogrin, his longsword hits for 14 damage (Attack, Crit confirmation)

(forgot bless in rolls, as usual)
[/SBLOCK]With the hag no longer an immediate threat, Ogrin does his best to get rid of the mystically concealed mutt. He first moves towards a flanking position, as always, though he has no hope on hitting the dogs vitals when he can hardly make out its shape. But suddenly, he thinks he can spot the outline of a jaw within the shadows and goes for what he believes to be its head. The beast howls in pain as the blade strikes true and deep! The mutt twists and manages to avoid losing an eye, and disappears into the shades again, barely avoiding Ogrins sap.

"Bad dog! Sit! Roll over! Play dead!"

OOC: 9 damage

Beamer's eyes fly open as Eusebius's hands leave him. "They're coming! They're coming and they're going to kill me!" His tiny hands grasp ineffectually at Eusebius's clothes as he claws himself to his feet. He takes off running away from the cave as fast as possible, paying no mind to where he is going.

rules:
[sblock]Ogrin & Razh were flanking her on the East & West, then she fled due south. I read those withdrawl rules & it looked to me like under those circumstances, no AoOs would be given. I could be wrong...[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=SRD]"Withdrawing from melee combat is a full-round action. When you withdraw, you can move up to double your speed. The square you start out in is not considered threatened by any opponent you can see, and therefore visible enemies do not get attacks of opportunity against you when you move from that square. (Invisible enemies still get attacks of opportunity against you, and you can’t withdraw from combat if you’re blinded.) You can’t take a 5-foot step during the same round in which you withdraw.

If, during the process of withdrawing, you move out of a threatened square (other than the one you started in), enemies get attacks of opportunity as normal.
"

Emphasis mine. The hag needs to step through at least two threatened squares and will provoke an AoO when leaving the second one.[/SBLOCK]

rules [sblock]Oh, you're right rln. Sometimes when I deal w/rules like this, I do look forward to 4E...[/sblock]

Modify round 3 as follows:

As the hag pulls away, Ogrin catches her a deep cut with his longsword. She stumbles a few more steps before collapsing in a pool of black bood.
