Sacred cow monsters

Its kinda weird I'm posting here since I always complain that there shouldn't be any sacred cows when monsters are concerned. Anyhoo, I'd just go with dragons, orcs, goblins, kobolds, undead, and I'll the monsters WotC took out of the SRD.

JV,

Come on...you know you want your soul sucking fiends in there too! It's just not D&D with Demons and Devils! ;)

I'd want new ones. I'm pretty biased, by I think the xxyth would make a very good substitute for those types of creatures. Plus, they not ridiculous and wielding weapons. When you talk devils and demons, I want mine Lovecraftian.

Eh, Lovecraftian outsiders to me are more like abberations from another plane more than "fiends".

To me a fiend is Orcus, Demogorgon, Asmodeus, Anthraxus, Lucifer! Now those are fiends! :)

Fus,

Glad you got some use out of this thread after all. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love Orcus and the lot of them, but I have a hard time imagining Satan running around with a +5 trident.

It honestly wouldn't be D&D for me without the traditional demons, devils, and yugoloths.

That said, I love the xxyth and am currently using them as exemplars of the Far Realm. I'm definitely open to new types of fiends, just not as replacements for the old.

Of course not. He walks in a stately manner and teleports when he's in a hurry.
