Sacred Healing

Hi!

Sacred Healing (CD) gives you the opportunity to spend one turning attempt to give fast healing 3.

The table seems to target allies and the text seems to target all living creatures.

Normally, the descripte text takes precedence over the table entries, but does that seem right in this case? Does someone want to take this feat to give ALL living creatures (including enemies in a combat situation) FH 3?

Kind reagrds

I think it'd be fair to apply it only to your allies -- you can usually choose which creatures effects like this effect, unless it's a burst. ... Is it a burst?

Oh, hm. In that case, I'd think it's all living creatures unless the errata says otherwise (I probably should've checked that before posting, though. :heh: ), but in that case I'd houserule it otherwise. Seems silly if it's all living creatures.

Edit: Not covered in the errata.

Thanx for your help. I've houseruled it "otherwise", as you suggested; and, no, not a hint of an erratum exists. ;)

Thanx anyway and kind regards

It's a feat, actually. And... I think it lasts a number of rounds equal to your Cha mod, but I'm probably wrong. Probably minutes.

It's a feat from the Complete Divine and, yes, it's rounds/Cha mod (min. 1).
The cleric IMC does now provide FH 3 for 4 rounds to 7 characters, that's an awesome total of 84 hit points per turning attempt (even in a silence attached to an unhallow spell). And I reckom him to buff himself up with an eagle's splendor next time for 5x3x7=105 hp. :D

Kind regards

Yow, cool. Doesn't Eagle's Splendor give you +4 Cha? That'd make it 6x3x7=126 hp. :uhoh:

I have been using this feat for a little while. It's quite useful to burn out those last remaining turn attempts at the end of the day to heal people, rather than saving spell slots to do it. We have also been using the "helps enemies in range as well" rule, making it only useful after a battle or in a very bad situation. In theory, by the way, it could HURT undead while healing allies.

One great, unexpected use I found for it was in the following situation:

Our spellcaster was unconcious and being carried away by the Big Bad Monster at a high speed, in the direction of a lot of other opponants (so if he got too far, we couldn't continue to pursue him and expect to live). The Big Bad Monster had Darkness cast on him (the 3.0 version, so not just shadowy illumination, but real magical darkness). We had no idea where he was to target him so we could rescue our spellcaster, and an area attack would only kill our spellcaster in the process. So, I ran into the darkness, burst the healing out around me, throughout the darkness, and ran away again.

It helped the Big Bad Monster...which was no big deal because he was barely injured as it was. However, 2 rounds later our spellcaster woke up from the fast healing...and dimension doored herself out of there (thank goodness Dimension Door has no somatic componants). The Big Bad Monster was mighty upset his captive suddenly woke up and disappeared, and the rest of the party had fled already far enough away that he could no longer turn back and pursue.

In conclusion, there are unexpected situations where non-targeted healing can be really useful.
