Sage... Dragon... Advice... what?

Problem: virtually nobody would do a research if you're sure about an answer (if rightfully sure is a different matter). You only do a research if you're not certain.
Speak for yourself. When I consider "being sure I am right" to be a priority, I crack open the books, pretty much regardless of how certain I am that I'm right. And given I co-GM an epic arena, trust me ... I tend to debate the rules quite a lot. I daresay I spend as much time discussing the rules, as I spend playing, nowadays.

So if the Sage thinks of himself as someone who can answer pretty much anything from the top of his head - or at least those questions where the answer seems obvious to him - he won't do a research.
Then he needs to be given a wake-up-call. He's obviously not that good with the rules, after all.

5% error on nontrivial issues owudl be good. 10% would be livable. Currently, he's well above that 10%, IMO. More like 30% to 40% ...

Sorry, but what of "Skip works for dragon, which is not owned by WoTC" do you have trouble comprehending. Caliban has mentioned it twice, and others have too. You talk about repeating yourself, but the fact is you are not willing to listen to anything that is said.
I comprehend. This issue was addressed on the second page of this thread by Hypersmurf. WotC, in the September FAQ, noted that the Sage speaks for WotC. I reminded people of this fact later in the thread.

What about the Bastard Sword? It is listed as a one-handed exotic weapon and the description says it can be used two handed as a martial weapon.

To me this reads very different from the lance - it is a one handed weapon
that you can use two handed (just like a longsword). So no 1.5xstr dam and
2xpower attack when used one handed. This is too bad, because if it were
like the lance then I think it would be worth the feat (but it would also
make dwarf fighters even more powerful because they would get to use that
same strat on the dwarf waraxe without a feat).

If I thought I could convince WOTC to give it to me, I would! And I'd bloody well check the actual books involved before pronouncing answers to any questions!

Absolutely. You've got bastard sword exactly right.

Either you take over or someone else will since your words are not encouraging!

Huh? My words are not encouraging, so either I or someone else will suddenly get the authority to answer questions in an official capacity for WotC? Uhhhh ... pass me some of that stuff you're smoking. It must be *real* good.

I've never suggested that I want his job. If I had it, I might enjoy the mad rush of power for a few seconds, but I don't want to do the things that need to be done to do his job properly. I would not be a good candidate. There are other people, however, that might do the job better than Skip.
