Okay, we have the good, oldfashioned....
Mantle of Epic Spell Resistance
Grants wearer Spell Resistance 40
Different Bracers of Epic Armor
Grants wearer up to as much as +15 AC.
He should have a "slightly" unique dagger as well perhaps, not anything powerful or fancy, just one with some ability that an old Arch Wizard could use.
How about this....
Sahaks Dagger
Dagger +6. Once pr. month, the wielder of the Dagger can choose to activate its special power. When this power is activated, the dagger casts Bull´s Strength, Cat´s Grace, Endurance, Haste followed by Tensers Transformation on the wielder. These spells are all cast within the same round and will remain in effect for the following 50 rounds. Within these rounds, the wielder has fast healing 2.
A little back-up plan dagger? Just in case of emergencies where he runs out of spells & stuff.

I think that dagger is a little to powerfull on it's current form, something like the following would be better (and as far as I know, ability boost items does indeed stack with bonuses from Wish.)

This +6 Ghosttouch Mithral Dagger allows the wearer to cast Teleport Without Error twice per day as a quickened action.
This version of the dagger is much more in line with his personality.
Also, I think his cloak/mantle should enable him to levitate for some time each day, as well as allow him to use Dimension Door a couple of times per day.
The Bracers should in additon to the increase in AC, give him the ability to cast some low level spell once or twice per day. Haste or Water Breathing perhaps?

Like the stuff about the dagger. Teleport without error sounds fine, more Sahakish.
The Mantle... hmmm.. Perhaps fly / 1 day and Dimension Door 1 / day? I hardly think a mighty dude like him would bother himself with Levitate
The Bracers.. How about this. Bracers of Armor +14 . Can cast Waterbreathing 1 / day, Expeditious Retreat 3 / day and Spider Climb 3 / day ? Alot of good, movement related spells that arent too powerful ?

Everybody could need a little good luck every now & then.. so why not.
Some Scrolls probably, some with those needed spells like Meteor Storm and stuff. Always good with a few extra scrolls, to make sure you have the necesary combat power when its needed. Hmmmm.... anything else....

Well, that's the fun part. An Ioun can do just about anything as long as it is non-offensive. So no exploding iouns here.
The DMG ones grant enhancement bonuses to ability score, one grants alertness, others absorb incoming spells, and one works as a ring of sustenance.
I was thinking that he could have iouns that do some of the following:
One that grants him a +5 insight bonus to AC.
One that grants him a +20 enhancement bonus on concentration checks.
One that grants him access to the Thoughness feat.
and so on... all varying in power. He should have a vouple of dozen of these babies, all different of course....
