Sahak of the nine colors! Spells and stuff.

Cool spells, first time you post em?

Blend Into Shadows, seem to remember a PrC ability named that, but the spell is good. Very Evil Villain like. Wouldn't say that is too powerful, Invisibility is 2 nd. level and they both have their advantages. Blend Into Shadows might give a bonus to hide in shadowy / dark places.

Death Beam, not much to say, powerful but expensive.

Both of the Wings spells would go well with a Tiefling wizard. The Lesser Shadow Wings might provide flight a little too early. Might be better as a level 2 spell, not sure. Greater Shadow Wings are good as they are, they are better than fly in their movement rate (or should be).

Mind Ripper, sounds like an "evil" version of Feeblemind on some points, has the additional advantage of inflicting damage whereas the intelligence drain is lower.

I might have to ponder on some more feedback, but at a glance, they look very much fine.

They were posted ar RoE (Realms of Evil). Krish did see some of em. Lesser shadow wings can be a pain for you for you can walk faster then you fly.

It's nice to see a fellow dane on these boards... (Even though I live in sweden...)

Ias: Some comments on the spells: Lesser Shadow Wings Should be a second level spell, as it is of comparable power to Levitate. Death Beam should have a damage cap (say +40 perhaps?), and also could be a real pain in epic games, where a PC (or NPC) can boost the Save DC to incredible hights (Int 40 anyone?), it should also have the [Evil] descripitor. Mind Ripper should also have the [evil] descripitor.

Keep up the good work, and remeber, anyone who wishes to contribute may do so freely.

Im attempting to Flesh out the two spells I visualised earlier.

Sahak's Painful Domination
Necromancy [Evil] [Mind-Influencing]
Level: Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S, MF
Casting Time: 5 rounds
Range: Touch - 25 ft. + 5 ft. / 2 levels
Target: One Creature
Duration: 1 Week / level
Saving Throw: Fortitude Negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

Sahak of Nine Colors is known to be one of the cruelest archmages found outside the Lower Planes. His desire to dominate his immediate sorroundings led him to develop Sahak's Painful Domination, a spell he normally casts on all his servants and minions. The spell is fueled by necromantic powers and is meant to create utter obedience and loyalty.
Since the casting time of the spell is somewhat long, it is rarely used in combat. It happens occasionaly that Sahak cast's it on a prisoner, as a method of torture.
The spell creates a complex store of negative energy in the person. This spell is able of reading the mind of the target, though with limitations. The spell can only read those thoughts that concern it's caster. Due to the unique nature of the spell pattern, it can only operate while the caster is nearby, otherwise the spell will not work and remain dormant.

If the caster of Sahak's Painful Domination gives an order or command to those he has affected by the spell, they must fulfill his orders and commands to the best of their ability. If any person within range of the caster does something he himself knows is against the wishes of his master, he instantly takes 1d4 points of subdual damage and 1 point of fire damage. If the person doesn't truly know that his actions or his words are against the wishes of the caster, he doesn't suffer this damage. So, if Sahak found a barbarian servant and placed Sahak's Painful Domination on her, she wouldn't suffer any pain if she, for example, spoke to him without being spoken to. She wouldn't know it to be against his wishes and therefore wouldn't take the damage. Yet, a normal servant that spoke to Sahak would take the damage, as he knows that he is not supposed to do so.

The damage manifests as whiplashes, causing tiny cuts to appear on the affected person's body. There are no visible "whips", but those that have been under the effect of the spell describe that pain to be similar to that of a burning whip.
The spell has a number of charges, equal to the casters level x 2. Every time it causes damage to the person it affects, it looses a charge. So, it is possible to end the spell by going against the wishes of the caster many times enough, even though it is not the preferable way. The caster will know if one of his Sahak's Painful Domination spells have been spent or dispelled, thus allowing him to recast it at the first, available time.

The spell offers a Fortitude saving throw when it is cast. If the affected person succeeds in his saving throw, the spell has no effect on him. The caster will though know that his spell didn't have any effect and can attempt to recast it if he has another memorised.
Once the spell is in effect, there are four ways to end it.

1. The affected person can go against the wishes of the caster so many times that the spell's charges are used up.
2: The affected person can remove the Material Focus of the spell, the silver headband. Yet, removing the silver headband causes all charges left in the spell to take effect on the person, causing 1d4 x number of charges points of subdual damage plus fire damage equal to the number of charges.
3: The magic can be removed by spells. Dispel Magic doesn't work against Sahak's Painful Domination, but Remove Curse, Greater Restoration and Limited Wish can remove it.
4: The affected person can allow the duration to expire.

The spell doesn't prevent the affected person from running away though. Yet, as long as the silver headband is still located on the persons head, the caster of Sahak's Painful Domination will automatically succeed in any Scrying attempts on the affected person.

Material Focus: A silver headband, worth 25 gp. which is placed on the head of the affected person.

Im just writing on the Individual Illusion spell, gonna post it in 10-15 minutes. Im not sure Necromancy was the right school, because there's a little bit of Divination and Enchantment over the spell too.

Anyways, cool that there's another right-minded Denmarkian online... hehe

I wouldn't call myself rightminded... Because, if given half the chance, I would attempt world domination, by the simple reasoning that the current forms of goverment used in todays world don't work worth <four letter word for fecal matter>. The world should be run as a Feudal Republic IMHO, with me as the Emperor :D

Anyways, now you know why I do evil so good... <Evil grin>

Back on topic, The can't hardly wait to see the illusion spell.

Sahak's Individual Illusion
Illusion [Mind-Influencing]
Level: Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 action + 1 round for each additional subject group
Range: Personal
Duration: 1 hour / level
Saving Throw: Will partial
Spell Resistance: Yes partial

Sahak is a complicated personality and likes to use his superior intelligence to dominate and influence those around him. Yet, as a wizard, he has the advantage of having magic to aid him in his endeavours.

Sahak’s Individual Illusion creates an effect similar to that of Change Self. This effect is not subject to saving throws nor spell resistance. The other aspect of the spell is however. When casting the spell, the caster can define a number of “groups” equal to half his caster level. These groups could be “Clerics of Torm”, “Orc” or specific persons like “The Wizard Thimbon”. The groups need to be clearly defined though, so there are no possibilities for mistakes. The caster of Sahak’s Individual Illusion can determine special appearances he will have when seen by a member of these groups. For each group, he can determine the appearance he will have when looked upon. He could, for example, determine that all Clerics of Torm will perceive him as a frail, old man, whereas orcs will see him as a mighty, orc chieftain. The effect imposed upon these additional groups isn’t an illusionary effect though. The spell alters their perceptions, influencing their mind. Thus, each person is allowed a Will saving throw to avoid the effect of Sahak’s Individual Illusion. If he succeeds in his Will saving throw, he will still perceive the caster as affected by the Change Self effect.

Sahak mainly uses the spell for influencing his surroundings. Often, he will choose forms that are appealing to all of the different “groups” he intends to encounter on the day in question.
The spell can have an effect during combat as well. On a few occasions, Sahak has used the spell before going into combat. He then chooses a different appearance for each member of the enemy group to make co-ordination harder for them. This is especially efficient when fighting together with the mercenaries, summoned monsters and minions that often accompany him.

Hmmm.... I would prefer to be "High Emporer"... like that sound better.. Well, thats another thing for me to ponder about in my Mountain Lair tonight..

High Emperor, huh, sounds good. What mountain lair? There are no mountains in denmark. :D

Like the spell though, I wish I had though of it first :D
