Sahara

Looks like they put a few bucks into the cast of Sahara but the directing and screenwriting team is all fairly raw. From the trailer, it looks like some buckos also went toward special effects.

Any inside dirt on this one?

Ask Matthew McConaughey. He's riding in some kind of a trailer (painted with a Sahara movie billboard) hitched onto a pickup truck touring somewhere around the heartland of America, promoting it.

But don't ask if Penelope is inside the trailer.

I know. Cheap promotion, something Hollywood glamour would frown upon.

Hmmph. If they're going to make a Dirk Pitt movie, why not choose "Treasure" over "Sahara"... simpler and better story....

Maybe they're saving that so they can have a more successful sequel? It'd be an interesting twist, and since almost anything with decent DVD sales can get a sequel, it might be worth the risk.

I used to like Matt when he shacked up with Sondra Bullock.
