Any good?

I used to love the Samurai Jack cartoon, but I am without cable television now. I was browsing amazon.com, and I thought of buying this. Also, how long is this movie?

If you've seen episodes 1 and 2, you haven't missed much. Only difference is I believe the movie is mostly in letter box.

There's also a 'bonus' episode buried amongst the special features on the DVD. It features a crazed scotsman with machine gun peg-leg.

It's quite funny.

I just read on IMDB.com that this DVD is only 30 minutes long. There's no way (even with bonus features) I'm laying out close to $20 for a 30 minutes DVD.

Aye, it is hysterical.

I don't remember the exact time, but I believe it was in the 90 minute vicinity. Plus, there's the bonus episode with the Scotsman.

If it's the original premiere movie (and I would expect it is), then it was actually broken up into three episodes after the fact. That would give it a running time of roughly 66 minutes. If they provide the first appearance of the Scotsman, then that would be 88 minutes. Pretty damn good for that price.

Speaking of which, the Scotsman will be making his latest appearance in a week or two, in a new episode. Great stuff.

EDIT: Actually, according to Amazon, who's selling it for $12.99, it's got a currently un-aired episode, some DVD-ROM features and a 10 minute documentary (most likely the one aired by Cartoon Network just after the movie premiered).

You can check it out HERE.

I'd just like to add...

...that while the crazed machine gun-augmented Scotsman is great fun, the two best episodes are, in fact....

2) the one where Jack loses his sandals in front of the "Foot Locker of Tomorrow" and has to fight the Go-Bots using a sequence of increasing ridiculous replacement shoes...

and

1) the Lewis Carroll homage where a naked Jack jumps down the rabbit hole in search of his clothes and ends up in the insect-powered Victorian Wonderland...

That's all.
