Anyone else check out the preview episode?

I thought it was fairly decent for a children's programme. I liked how they made a lot of nods to Doctor Who, especially all the photos of the Brigadier and Harry Sullivan in Sarah's garrett room. 'Mr. Smith's' console looked rather a lot like a TARDIS console to me. And wasn't her 'sonic lipstick' fun?

It was disappointing that K-9 made such a brief appearance, but I can see some logical reasons for that decision. Keeping him as a regular character would give Sarah too much firepower and draw attention away from the child characters, not to mention being a special effects headache and an extra expense. 'Mr. Smith' can't go anywhere and probably won't have much dialogue, which will mean the only expense for that effect will be the blinking lights and computer screen.

I wish they'd named the boy Alistair or Harry, but I suppose Alistair is too old-fashioned and they were afraid Harry would remind everyone of Harry Potter.

I'll probably check it out again when the series begins its regular run.

Yeah, but still the same reason - they likely don't want to reduce the appeal of his own show, by having him regularly appear on the Sarah Jane show. (Since he's a robot dog, it's not like a shooting schedule would affect him much, as they could simply make another)
