Savage Species impact on Revised

It seems to me that a bunch of things from Savage Species is going to be used with the revised rules. They already gave the mention about Ogre characters. And they're now saying that templates like Lycanthropes is like multiclassing in animal levels.

I guess we'll have to find out how these classes work in a couple of weeks.

With the lycnathrope thing, that was always something I wanted templates to be able to do, take them as levels instead of having to start at high level to take advantage of them. My DM in a low level game worked out a progression for half-celestial so that my paladin "grew" into it, it was great roleplaying wise because I kept getting weird powers and I had no idea why. :)

I think it'll impact 3.5. Unfortunately, I also think that Savage Species is going to change how ECL works, what with the monster classes and such, thus making it overly complicated.

I do, however, look forward to being able to deconstruct a monster down to an ECL of +0. It'll save a lot of heartaches at my table...

I am so looking forward to this book as well. I think it will be interesting to see some rules on breaking down monsters into levels so that you could add those abilities to diferent characters.

Sounds good to me. They have a chance to unify the rules for "monsters" and "characters" to produce something more elegant.

I missed that. Interesting.

Everytime I see this, I'm compelled to say, "Excellent!" I hope they turn Vampires into a class as well.
