Savage Species Review up

This is not a complete assessment, as Ive done nothing more than a 30 minute read-through at my local Game Retailer, but I thought it was fairly well laid out and concise. The problem: I've less than zero interest in letting my PCs run amok in my campaign world playing various monstrous types. IMHO it sucks the heroic bent of D&D right out of the game.

RARELY would I ever let any of my players do something like this. They'd have to have a really good character idea, and we'd have to be starting the campaign at high enough level for them to actually TAKE the monster class to begin with.

Er, the whole point of breaking down the races into 'levels is so that you can start off as a first level adventurer of that race, theoretically no more powerful than any other first level adventurerer of any other race :)
