"Not worried to much on how fast she can run" Varg replies "But that the trailer and RV attached is going to go flying and dump all them civis... "

Marcus added "If we could get to a defensible position I could set up my Mega-Wall. The generator is almost back to full so it should give us a couple of hours. But it don't do mobile either."

"Hmm. Marcus, maybe we could change the mega-wall! Jury rig it to project a smaller, weaker shield that we could anchor to the trailer! Then the fury beetle could run full out and no one would fall off."

She frowned. "Of course, we'd probably have to reinforce the bit where it hooks on, but...we'd figure something out for that."
 

Marcus looks thoughtful adding "If I could reverse the gravity on the trailer and RV we could make everyone 'stick' to them... then you rig up something to enhance the tensile strength of the whole rig to survive the pounding it is going to take..."

GM: Techno-wizard talk for Marcus - I am going to use Arcane Machinist: Gadget to do Exalted Telekinesis to give me a TK super strength to hold everyone to the trailer. You either use Greater Armor or something similar to make everything grain +5 (+10 with a Raise) MDS armor points

“Who are the First Apocalypse Cavalry?” Alenysturathe asked.

They discussed augmenting the trailer and Alenys asked, “Could I carry the trailer and fly it out? Would that work?”

"1st Apocalyptic Cavalry is a buncha people who style themselves frontier vigilantes but who couch alla their activities in open hatred. They hate anythin' that's a d-bee or anythin' that looks like a d-bee, an' I ain't too eager to see where they make the distinction. They'd as likely as not do us all in." Dawn suppressed a yawn, and scratched the side of her head she'd slept on wrong, the fur all matted.

"If you think your doohickey is gonna work, let's do it. I'll go an' tell everyone in there to hang on an' keep their heads down. What do we do if they try shootin' at us?"

GM: It might slow her a little but she could carry either the trailer full of people or the RV full of people. The RV would not require her to make Agility rolls to NOT spill poeple over the side so she would probably want to do that. The Sparky would move at her full speed.

Marcus is Veteran so TK is Seasoned so is Techno-Wizard skill is at no penalty (-1 for Fatigue) Techno-wizard skill check: 1D10.OPEN(10)-1 = [5]-1 = 4; 1D6.OPEN(6) = [3] = 3, just made it.


Marcus and Deezy start making crazy attachments to both the cables and the trailbed, while Alenys shifts into your dragon form to grab the RV and lifting it into the air. Varg gets Sparky started running flat out for the rougher looking hills to the southwest. It takes only a few seconds for the fury-beetle to reach her full speed and the trailer starts bouncing crazily, and yet the refugees remain 'stuck' in place. May shout and scream in fear (while many children laugh and shout "FASTER") but they all remain secure in place.

The mob half pursues the caravan but give up fairly quickly. While the off-road motorcycles could probably keep up, they don't seem brave enough to face you on their own with the large ATV and most of the jeeps falling behind...

An hour or so later Varg starts slowing Sparky down and Alenys lands with the RV as you have lost sight of any straggler behind you. Dawn does get a sense every now and again of some psychic energy brushing over the group but it does not seem hostile or threatening...


GM: As it is non-combat not worrying about PPE to power your gadgets. Just want to be sure you want to hook everything back up and continue south. The 'cavalry' is still lingering about but at least two miles behind you...
 

"Mmn." Dawn keeps sniffing the air, by now used to the mix of magical, psychic and supernatural scents that the group carried with them, and frowning at the unfamiliar ones. "Gang, got a feelin' we might be gettin' spied on via magic. Careful what you say."
 

"Spied on?" blurts Deezy, startled. "That's weird! We killed that mage. Maybe one of the guys in that Apocalypse battalion knows some magic!"
