GM: So both Deezy and Dawn will have one level of Fatigue tomorrow. Still waiting on the dragon hatchlings roll, but...

After Dawn retires to try and catch some much needed sleep she wakes Deezy and Marcus. The two techno-wizards discuss many things during their watch and Marcus explains about his "Omni-Glove Device". It is fairly self powered and allows the wearer to 'communicate' with most mundane machines and technology.

GM: The Omni-Glove requires 2 Major and 2 Minor upgrades. It's first Major one is an Edge - Telemechanic. This is the same as the Major Psionic edge that allows a psionic (but in this case an Arcane caster) the ability to communicate and control complex machinery just like the Telepathy and Puppet powers work against living beings.
The second Major upgrade is that increases the users Repair skill by +1 step.
The two minor Upgrades are 5 PPE points stored in the device to power the device (it requires 2 PPE to activate the device and the one PP per hour to use) and it counts as being 'Armed' (for melee attacks, do not suffer the unarmed penalty of -2 to Parry) and it grants +1 to the users Parry.

[sblock=TELEMECHANICS Full description]This peculiar yet powerful Master Psionic ability permits the psi to directly connect to and interface with machines, vehicles, computers, and electronic devices. When activating telepathy, instead of using the normal power effects, he can choose to gain +4 to all checks involving computers and electronics, including Investigation checks to dig through data and files. This bonus also applies to attempts to bypass security systems and electronic locks.[/sblock]

“I’ll listen; I promise!” Alenysturathe said to Dawn. And she was an eager student as the dog-girl taught her how to use the gun correctly -- and more importantly, safely.

When watch was over, Alenys moved to the edge of camp and transformed into her dragon form once more, curling up around and going to sleep.

Dang! None of us are getting the beauty sleep we need!

Nothing else of note happened in the night but in the morning the heroes are all tired. Gathering up the refugees onto the trailer and RV, Varg gets Sparks the fury-beetle moving slowly south.

Fairly quickly the strange caravan moves out of the ruins and into the open when Varg calls out "Looks like something ahead... might be a mob or a gang, can't tell from here"

When the other heroes climb up onto the back of the fury-beetle to get a look they can all see the walled town they passed on the way here about a half a mile away. Outside the walls and gathered towards the south can be seen a number of jeeps, two large ATV and motorcycles with a number of individuals standing out in front of them. A couple of carrying standards on long poles. It is hard to see for sure from here, but it looks like the flags are yellow and black...

GM: Everyone has one level of Fatigue right now so just keep that in mind. You are -1 to all skill and trait rolls (except Soaking).
The 'mob' is about 400" (2,400 feet) away. It appears to be around 20 or 30 individuals, standing around 6 jeeps, 2 heavier looking ATVs, 10 motorcycles.

Without some form of enhancements to visual (and I can't remember if anyone has binoculars or not) enhancement you are going to have to get closer to make out anything more. You can try and swing out further to avoid them BUT the terrain starts getting rougher and so the going will be slower if you don't want to dump the refugees

Alenysturathe stretched and gave a massive, open-jawed yawn that sent a few of the refugees scurrying away from her form. She groaned, stretching out stiffness and her aching back. She had not slept well! She missed her lair back at Castle Refuge.

She shook out her wings and then folded them down again before shifting, shrinking down to human form and walking into camp. At least she wasn’t hungry. The magic of the ley line had sated her well and would last for weeks. The breakfast gruel didn’t look particularly appetizing.

“Gods, I am so tired,” the teenage girl yawned and slumped down next to Dawn. She leaned into the dog-girl and rested her head on the cyber-knight’s shoulder to doze while the others ate.

Soon they were making their way south, back to Castle Refuge. As they leave the ruins of the city, however, they see a grouping of figures in the distance, several people and vehicles.

“What’s that?” Alenys asked, squinting to try and see better. Then she swung her backpack off and dug around inside, finally finding the infrared distancing binoculars she had picked up before leaving the Castle. She turned them around a few times, trying to figure out how to use them.

“Um...Dawn, how does this work?” she asked, holding the binoculars out to the cyber-knight. “The quartermaster said they help you see farther.”

Deezy drinks in Marcus' amazing Omni-Glove, and eagerly peppers him with questions and requests to try this, or explain that. Long after the older techno-wizard has gone to sleep, she lies awake thinking of all the things she could do with something like that. But she can't just steal the idea! It's a conundrum! Maybe Marcus could come work for her! But he might want to do his OWN business! What to do...

The next morning, still bleary from the late night, she spots the distant crowd and lowers her goggles over her eyes. The lenses turn green, with scan lines flickering over their surfaces, and the apparatus emits a thin, high pitched whine for a moment.

(Using the Farsight power built into the Magic Optic Goggles.)

Deezy focuses in on the group standing about and sees a rag-tag group of what are probably mercs or militia for the town. When she looks at their flags they are long triangle shaped, with yellow field with black boarders and a black bar diagonally a crossed it. The lower have of the field has what appears to be a silhouetted horse's head and the upper field is a 1st

GM: As you were all given a briefing about them at the very beginning of the adventure by Koddin, the N'mbyr Gorilla Man, you recognize the symbol as that if the 1st Apocalypse Cavalry. A violently anti-DBee group of semi-mercenaries and raiders. They are not allied with the Coalition as they accept mages and master psychics into their ranks... so long as you also hate DBees.

"Hoo...we are NOT gonna want to let them catch up to us," Deezy says as she adjusts her goggles again. "First Apocalypse Cavalry by the markings. Way too many to fight, especially with all these civilians with us."

Varg squints his eyes to see the group and mentioned "Sparky could probably outrun them given the terrain around here, but not with the trailer or civilians hitched on. Not sure I can outrun them if they want trouble..."
