Saving the Samurai?

For the OA Samurai, I've been thinking about doing away with the Gp or Xp cost, and making the magical bonuses unportable. The magic of the weapon would be a function of the bond between the Samurai and their ancestral weapon. In the hands of anyone else it's simply a masterwork weapon. The Xp cost would only come into play if the weapon is destroyed, forcing the Samurai to "relearn" what they knew, with a new weapon of the same type.

315 maybe? That and #339 were the two that featured 'campagin setting articles'. I don't have my dragons handy to look through, though. :(
