Sort of a newbie question... I read somewhere (and a long time ago) that in the Scarred Lands Setting casting arcane spells produces heat, so casters are prone to overheating. Is that true, and if yes in which book might those rules be found?

Yes this is true. Relics and Rituals. Page 24. In game terms this means anyone wearing ANY armor has their arcane spell failure doubled. Thus it's pretty easy to believe that any sorcerer or wizard (bards may or may not create Arcane heat, as there is a variant rule for them in the Player's Guide to Wizards, Bards and Sorcerers), wearing armor will fail their arcane spell casting check. At least if you're using anything medium armor or heavier. There are ways around it but they aren't always easy to come by.

I'm not sure a lot of people pay attention to that rule. It seemed to me to be an explanation for why you always see fantasy illustration of half-naked women casting spells, and I had a lot of trouble taking it seriously. I know we don't use it in KidCthulhu's SL campaign.

PC,

That may be so, but I do enforce it in my games. In any case I do know that because of it, and the Helliann Pr-class in R&R2, we have a lot of half naked women running around without freezing their unmentionables off.

Fenes,
Not a problem.

Wasn't the Revised CC supposed to have info about how creatures from the MM fit into the SL? I seem to remember reading something about it and then reading that they did not have enough room and would post it on the SL website. Did they ever do it or give a reason why they did not?

Forge, not really but I also believe the Webmaster is at fault for that. In any case I think perhaps Adlon and I will try to get it on Scarn.Mortality.net. Certainly it's my goal.
