John,

This I honestly don't know that much. But I believe there was a rumor that the Wieck brothers used a lot of elements from one of their campaigns for the setting. I don't know if it was 100% a WW creation, but obviously it is now.

Wow, that would really shake things up! I should consider doing the same and see how it shakes the faith of the paladin in our group...can you direct me to the earlier thread? I'm very interested in reading it....

Sure - here ya go. Yes, this has definitely shaken thing up! Some good ideas here:

Thanks for your thoughts Nighty - By the way, I have been buying Games Workshop Skaven for my Ratmen, they work great as you might imagine...

Yes I'm sure they do Biggie. Btw I am considering using Chaositech stuff to some Slitheren/Ratmen.

Also BIG news! I have cover art for Edge of Infinity: Scarred Strife. Now I couldn't copy and paste the actual cover, but this link SHOULD provide you access to the art gallery The one on fire is Edge of Infinity. It looks VERY, VERY damn cool. Scot Johnson's work and the cover for Edge of Infinity

Well, I think the human-looking fellow on the cover is a bit eh, but ignoring him, yes, it is a nice piece of artwork, and I was made particularly giddy for it having been of the City of Brass. Who can't dig that?

SWEET EFREEET!

Now THAT is the City of Brass Babay!

Ok back to me, my annoying questions, and my wizard/follower of Tanil.

Currently he's just a wizard (level 3 one) who 'WAS' training to be a Veshian Vigil... but that's a long character history. Safe to say, master and other apprenticed died, yadda yadda yadda, nearest settlement Hollowfaust, yadda yadda yadda, end up unconsiouces and the victim (victim... yes that's the right word... MWA HA HA HA HA) , yadda yadda yadda, party saves me and now I'm with them out of debt (since they gave me back my equipment and a place to stay).

I follow the teachings of Tanil, and if allowed to take Mystic Theurge by my DM, Tanil will be my patron diety.

Now I'm looking for roleplaying reasons to actually take this class. Right not my ideas were based off of a fairly religious upbringing stemmed with my arcane teachings lead to a hybrid of both, but that seems like a kinda... well lets just say is sounds like a $h1+ excuse. So I'm looking for your ideas :D

Trick, this is one of the few times I think we'll agree on ANYTHING. I say screw the guy there! The rest, the City of Brass, the Elemental Plane of Fire, RULES! And now I know you agree with me.

Questions are never annoying. It helps keep my title. :p :)

Firstly I would like to point out MOST MTs are followers of either Hedrada or former Miridum priests. So for a Tanil person...not sure it would work. A Bardic type class is more in line with Tanil's stuff. But if you and your DM want to do it, that's fine. Personally I'm much more comfortable with Hallowed Mage from Book of Hallowed Might. If you want something to incorperate arcane magics with divine ones, I honestly think you're much better off using the Cabalist feat and then using that to power your spells. Then later on Master Cabalist from PG: Wizards, Bards and Sorcerers. This certainly would be within the tenets of both being a follower of Tanil AND using arcane power to get some divine might involved.

If you need further clarification on what the Cabalist feat is and what abilities a Master Cabalist gains, I'd be happy to provide information on that.

Take which class? Cleric or Mystic Theurge? If you're talking about Mystic Theurge, seeing as how it's essentially a multiclass fix, it's not the sort of thing I would worry about trying to explain, unless your DM really forces you to. Once the character has a strong enough understanding of both Arcane and Divine magic, there comes a point where he can just begin focusing the two together, where he's familiar enough with both that they blend together.

The Mystic Theurge exists on the basis that advancing as a Cleric/Wizard up to 20th level makes for a subpar character. This is the case I'd be making to the DM if he requires some sort of background; that it just represents blending the powers of the two classes together as the character grows in power in each, and so your Cleric/Wizard is more or less of a similar strength to another character of equal level.

It's not meant to have flavor or an organization. It exists on the logic of making a Cleric/Wizard about as viable as, say, a Fighter/Rogue.

If that's still not satisfactory, well...say so. Or if you just meant you wanted a logical reason for picking up the cleric class to boot.

Trick,

I think he already said he was going a cleric/wizard. Which is while I do agree weak, he might consider trying cabalist invocations or something like that to get great powers. (Not to mention the DM can create new invocations for him as well, such as being able to channel an arcane spell into a healing one.)

Btw is it me, or does that efreet in the back ground look damn sweet?
