Scarred Lands big sale.. whats up?

Brennin,

I figured I'd save the TRULY shameless self promo for a little later. Besides while I like my city, Hornsaw is certainly better written.

Glad to be back. :)

Well guys, I can certainly say that I'm VERY impressed with the Scarred Lands (SL) Material. I'm more than just a bit of a book whore (!) and tend to collect everything in a line once I decided that I like it, which is just what I did here. I purchased something like 30 books off the Sword&Sorcery webpage... and most of it arrived yesterday. I'm still expecting 3 small shipments. The only book I don't own is Creature Collection 3, and I will likely buy that for the sake of completion.

I read the reviews of many of the Products here at Enworld before I decided to plunk down my coin and the game club's kitty on the books. They all get fair to excellent reviews. The Player's Guidebook series were trashed by my FLGS owner whose opinion on material I tend to respect. The reviewers here at Enworld seemed to think they were fair products for gamers, and good products for SL players. So I naturally picked them up as well. With this influx of tons of game books I haven't had a chance to even peruse them all yet, but what I have read I'm enjoying. I've read through half of Termana and Ghelspad, and have been reading over The Divine and Defeated.

Someone warned me ealier in this thread that the books are 90% fluff and that really excited me. I have tons of crunch with the Wizards books and the Fantasy Flight Games Legends and Lairs series (which I think are done well) that I own. What I look for in a setting is well written fluff, and thats what I'm finding here. I need to dig into the SL material, learn it and own it before I run a game there. Right now I'm running a 3 year old Forgotten Realms game and a relativly new Kalamar game as well. SL is next on the menu!

Two Falls,

If you have any SL questions, don't hesitate to ask me. :) I didn't get the rep as the guy that knows the ins and outs of SL for no reason. ;)

Good luck on your SL game.

Hello,

I was checking in to see if anyone could fill me in on all that's available for the "core" type rules for Scarred Lands.

Currently I have,

Creature Collection I and II (not bothering with revised CC I think)

Divine and Defeated

Relics and Riruals I and II

Ghelspad Gazzateer (small softcover book for like $10.00 (US))

Not counting city, wilderness, splatbook products or player's guides is there anything that is required to play the Scarred Lands?

I have interest in CC III but was wondering how hard it is too retro fit 3.5 mobs into 3.0?

Thanks in advance for replies.

Sorry, I don't know how to rename links, but this is the link to the online store at Sword&Sorcery, and is where I purchased all my Scarred Lands materials.

Thanks for the link. But, see, that's where I am having my confliction. I've seen three searches for Scarred Lands using that link and not one in three netted me all of the available "core" rulebooks at once. So it's kind of difficult to know if I've missed something or not.

I think all I need is the CC III to finish out my collection of just the core rules. I don't want to run a hard core Scarred Lands campaign but I love the flavor in the Divine and the Defeated along with the CC series. The little gazzateer is all I really am interested in for setting. But, for instance, are there any other Relics and Rituals besides the first two that are Scarred Lands specific?

No. Relics and Rituals 1 and 2, Creature Collections 1-3, The Divine and the Defeated, and then various books that detail specifics about the setting itself.

Thanks for the information.

:)

I will run a Scarred Lands campaign one day. I really dug The Divine and the Defeated. I certainly use CC monsters in my campaigns already. But I want to get a big picture thing going sometime.

*is kind of the big picture guy* Big pictures:

Kadum arise!

Mesos returns!

Vangal creates the Four Horsemen and send them to do battle with each other to end the world!

Nemorga proves he is the only real thing in all of SL existence. He just dreamt up the rest for amusement. ;)
