[Scarred Lands] Ghelspad HC question..

Torillan

First Post
While reading the entry for Darakeene in the hardcover book, I noticed something in the description of Meliad, the capitol city. On the map there are two numbered sites outside the walls (15 and 16), but the text descriptions only go to 14! Does anyone know what they are? I assumed they were one of the War Colleges, and it technically doesn't matter which is which. Just curious if anyone else noticed this.

I believe they are War Colleges as well. However since I didn't write any of the book (not that I was asked mind you. ;) ) I think perhaps we might get one of the authors here to answer that one.

Nightfall's rule: If there are only two posts on a SL thread one of them will be Nightfall's.

(you't think we'd get bored of mentioning this fact, but, at least, I haven't yet)

*smirks* Yeah well I don't mind personally. But this generally how it works.

Still would be nice if someone like JD Carriker or Dave Brohman tried to answer this. (Maybe.)

Would help if I had any clue. I looked it up and Dave Brohman wrote the Darakeene section. Might want to ask on the WW Scarred Lands board, he is a more common poster there.

Well you're in luck Torillin. Dave was kind enough to post this for me. So here it is.
Turns out I can't help you.Numbers 15 and 16 on the SLGS map of Meliad weren't on my original map. I assume that
they were added during the cartography phase but no one
ever got around to specifying what they were.

I'd say one has to be the Glemerhill Mercenary guild, most
likely #15, the other I just don't know. Making it another
merc guild is just a bit too boring. My preference would be
that each GM make it their own. It could be a lord's
eastate, a wiazard's tower, an anceint ruined keep, an
offshoot of the Phylacteric Vault, a massive temple
complex, or a mysterious pre-war castle sealed in an
(apparently) impenetrable magical shell, the possiblities
are endless (though I'd prefer something along the lines of
the last one). Who knows.

yada yada yada

So hope that's of some help.

Thanks!!

Nightfall, you are the man. Thank you for getting Dave to answer my question. I did check out the SL forums on their site, but couldn't find anything concerning the map.

I do like Dave's idea about one of the buildings being a magically sealed castle...................(creative juices flowing)...............

(Mmmmmm..........juices....................)

Np. Dave is the guy that will probably do Darakenee anyway. ;) But I figured he'd know more than I would. I'll tell him thanks too.
