Scarred Lands languages.

Fevil

First Post
I have just recently read the part in the SLCS about the
continents languages, and have discovered that by taking
only 1! language, a character can understand every
Titanspawn on the continent, perhaps the planet.
That language is Common Titan.

Have I misread this? Is this acceptable? Is it just me
that thinks that each race should have its own language?
At the very least Orcs.
Im quite disturbed by this revelation, to the point that I
am actually thinking of dumping the language suggestions
in the SLCS for those in the PHB.

Hmmm..maybe Im overreacting..still, I think that having one
language for all those races does seem like cutting corners a bit.

I know it sounds cheesy but there is a logic behind it.

Titan spawn were created by the Titans as their fodder in the war against the Gods. It would really make things more difficult if they created all of these spawn and created them all different languages.

I would say there is one language but since all of the Titans are gone so to speak the language is slowly falling out of use and each Titan race is warping the language to fit them. Remember a lizard type creature and an orc have very different shaped mouths. Eventually both are going to modify the universal language to make it better for their own use.

Well perhaps they can have varients for their languages, much like there are dialectic differences between Albadian and Calastian. I personally didn't see any thing wrong with it. However I would point out that Slitheren still have their own unique brand of language. Far as I can tell that hasn't changed Fevil.

Mm good point Doc. I guess to me, it made sense, not just for the reason you described, but because each group had a common bond. So why not have a common language?
