Knowledge is power

Note, I am not the one bragging about this spell. Not only was I not the first to mention it, I seem to be the only one to realize its "true nature" and as it will only work a limited number of times for any given caster *Gasp - say it isn't so - smirks* I will wait until the uproar caused by its continual casting dies down. I will bide my time for a more critical moment. Some knowledge need not be flaunted.

For which I appreciate.

Well since this IS a scarred Lands thread, any one that's read the Insider/Quarterly, any comments on the Adept of Flame? I personally think, next to ember mage, this will be a pretty sweet fire based class.

So whats the situation with Dragons in Scared Lands?

I've read Secrets and Societies, where Fieldmarshal Brizac "studied pre-Divine War dragon legends..."

And the blurb of Slarecian Dragon in CCII which implies there all gone or at least hidden and unlikely to ever be encoutered. Yet the CR list in the back has all the standard dragons listed right down to white dragon, wyrmling CR 1.

So are Dragons just legendary or are they as common as say WotC adventures Sunless Citadel, Forge of Fury, etc would seem to make them out to be, or somewhere inbetween?

Is there an offical stance on the rarity of dragons?

I've always went with the assumption that dragons are ultra rare as they didn't take sides in the Divine War and were wipped out as a result by gods and titans.

Of course I could be misreading that part.... One of the reasons why despite liking Dragonic Lore I haven't found too much use for it yet.

Dunno about an official stance, but I can say there some dragons left. Most art mock or wrack dragons. I will say they are very uncommon to point of being rare, at least in Ghelspad. Most dragons, the chromatics and such, you'd have to look in places few mortals if ANY would want to go. (At least in Ghelspad) Termana's jungle rumored to have had a few greens...but otherwise nada. Asherak I believe has some. But mainly, you'll probably are far more likely to encounter something of the titans than a dragon. However I'm sure there are plenty in the land that is the Dragon Lands, an archepeligo(sp) I believe past the drifting isle and across that ocean/sea.

(btw Joe, I have made use of Draconic lore in my Fangsfall campaign. (Dragoths) That and Monster's Handbook, are going to play a key role in my Hollowfaust campaign. But I do feel your pain. I'd love to unleash a lot more dragons.)
