Buttercup, there was an article in National Geographic last January about dogs which talked about that. ("Wolf to Woof, The Evolution of Dogs", Jan 2002). Pretty cool.

Dogs, though, have been with people for much longer than cats. "About 12,000 years ago hunter-gatherers in what is now Israel placed a body in a grave with its hand cradling a pup."

I've got my parent's copy of that issue because it has some coverage of a ruined castle in the Gobi Desert called Kharo Khato (The Black Castle). But I digress...

well, I'm a semiprofessional writer who games and works with dogs professionally. I've been thinking about doing something similar for dragon or someone for a while. However, I have the attention span of a ADD affected cat, and do not own any PDF editing software.

If I could get a cowriter or two on board, I could start an outline right about now for a complete guide to dogs. Dfferent breeds, alternate special qualities to adress trainablity, "classes" for dogs to reflect special training, etc.

Anyone wanna play?

I'd love to help with this. I used to be a dog person, til a certain kittie came into my life . I mostly know about Mastiffs (all types), Rotties, Pit Bulls (Am. Staff. and Am. Pit), & Bulldogs... plus alot of random facts on other breeds.

This is more attributable to the skate's wheels than an indication of impressive strength on the part of the pug.

A d20guide to dogs would have to have its own classification system for relevant differences.

6 kobolds = 1 retriever or mastiff
3 kobolds = 1 sighthound or shepherd
2 kobolds = 1 scenthound
1 1/3 kobolds = 1 toy dog

What about spiders? Hunting spiders, riding spiders, silking spiders?
