Feels weird to me to use Latin in a setting where the language doesn’t exist. I suppose it’s supposed to be a translation of a name in some ancient language in the setting?

It’s a caniverous & very vicious beast that sorta looks like a giant seal with a big mouth full of sharp teeth. It’s also as bloodthirsty as a shark. It’s in pathfinder creature compendium 2 or 4 if it helps.

Didn’t we give “magical beasts” a genus name?

Pinnepeds- seals- already have a lot of big sharp teeth. Just not like a shark’s. Is there anything else unusual about them?
