Scientists Shout Out!

What's your field?

In honor of Yair's academic publication, I thought I'd ask just how many scientists are on these boards. Do you have (or are working on) an advanced degree in science? Are you researching, teaching, or doing something else? What's your specialty?

Cheers!

I'm currently working on my M.S. in physics at the University of Louisville. My thesis will focus on the HeII Gunn-Peterson effect, so I'm learning the ropes of observational astronomy. I'm going to be applying to PhD programs this fall, and that means retaking the GRE! Ugh!

I know of one person who works in the Labs at the CDC (our resident OD&Der, Diaglo), and one other person with a degree in Molecular Biology, going for his Doctorate. And that's just two I'm aware of immediately.

We have a serious Brain Trust on ENWorld. :D

Scientists do not "shout out" unless the word is "Eureka!"

(I'm another physics dude, btw.)

But the question becomes, "why do scientists like vaccuum cleaners so much?"

The answers are twofold:

1) Science is a messy business, and someone has to clean up.

2) They don't. Freeman always complains when people think he's the guy with the vacuum cleaner.
