Scotley's and Leif's Constables of the 14th Ward [3.5E D&D] [OOC 02]

Well, the first thing to do would be to put the three healing potions as part of the party pool. This would bring the pool total down by 850 gp, or individual wealth down by 106.25 gp.

Second, our fighter, Darius, is a bastard sword specialist. It would be a shame for him not to get the blade. As it is worth 91675.2gp, this would mean (assuming the above paragraph is accepted) that if Darius wants the sword, he would owe the rest of the party 2259.375 gp (that's 322.767 gold a piece), or 1091.875 (that's 155.982 a piece) if he gives his old bastard sword +1 in "trade in".

Although the above is fair:
Now call me a traditionalist (or old geezer) but to Alarion at least, it is well worth 156 gp that the party fighter gets a much better sword... so he should just get it as his share and we all adjust accordingly. This way we make sure that if any items appears that are 'perfect' for a particular character, they don't go into heavy debt.

Of course, if Darius doesn't want the sword, just pawn the damn thing! :D

third, and most selfishly: Alarion would like the magical chain shirt as part of his share :)

EDIT: If we keep the potions for the party, and Darius gets the sword (trading it for his old one) the individual share (of the other 7) goes down to 6539gp, 6 sp, 4 cp

I'm cool with Darius taking the sword as his share (if he wants it). Also good with putting the healing potions into the party horde, and SF will contribute more to that after loot division shakes out and I see what he's left with.

Sorry for the delay - big project at work means I haven't had time to hunt down this OOC thread. Will update character stats this weekend.

Of course Darius wants the sword! He's been lusting after it ever since he first saw it. He can pay the difference to even up with the other party members, so he insists on doing that.

Darius is actually interested in the bow too if nobody else wants it. He can't afford it outright, though, and would probably have to go into debt. He doesn't want it that badly.

OK, new numbers. If we take the candlestick and healing potions out of the equation, then give the Bastard Sword to Darius in trade for his old one as his full share, and finally divide up the rest among the remaining 7 people, each share would be 6570 gp. How we would handle the Longbow, I don't know.

So, it seems that Darius gets the Bastardsword, Alarion gets the Chainmail, and SoulFetter gets the Ring of Protection.

As for the other unclaimed items, the best seem to be the Lesser Energy Assault Crystal (+1d6 energy damage to any weapon), Leather Armor +2 (Thea might like that if her Sorcerer spells aren't too critical), the Composite Longbow +2 (which Darius likes but can't afford), and the two Rods (Tau might like the Rod of Frost, but the Rod of Wonder might be too unpredictable). Any other takers? Anyone want any of the potions/oils, scroll, or wand?

Whirling property is in Magic Item Compendium p. 46

Price: +1 bonus
Property: Slashing melee weapon
Caster Level: 11th
Aura: Moderate; (DC20) transmutation
Activation: Full-round (mental)

The hilt of this weapon is twisted into a corkscrew design, and its blade is dramatically curved.

Three times per day, you can use this weapon to make a whirling attack that has a chance of striking all nearby opponents. Instead of making your regular attacks, you instead make on melee attack at your full attack bonus against each opponent within reach of the weapon. This property otherwise functions like the Whirlwind Attack Feat.

Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, haste.
Cost to Create: Varies.
