I like this stat block for the Beholder:

And WotC may have printed it, but it's still illegal now.

It was actually released in the 3.0 SRD at one point, not sure if it is there right now. So it went to public domain. Not sure that the OGL legalesse allows retroactive removal of material. Certainly the 3.5 version is a no-no, but the old one could be in a state of limbo, that might vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Not that it isn't common curtesy to not propagate the 3.0 stat block.

I am not a lawyer, but it seems that "you can't use trademarked stuff in OGL material without permission" has always been a part of the OGL, and "giving permission to use stuff in OGL material doesn't equate to giving up your rights over the material" also has. So I think it may well be against the terms of the license to distribute such stuff...

OGL gives you permission, with some requirements, to stuff released in the SRD.

Well, hold on a second! It is on the WOTC site from the 3.0 version -- not via
the Wayback machine or anything. Why does posting a link to it make it illegal
if WOTC themselves have the link public.
