DM advice, what is not in it is the magic itemsWhat is in the DMG that makes it optional?
So no subsystems or DM facing rules? Monster and trap creation?DM advice, what is not in it is the magic items
nothing that is not optional, of course it contains DM facing stuff and optional rule variants, it is a DMGSo no subsystems or DM facing rules? Monster and trap creation?
Huh. To each their own.nothing that is not optional, of course it contains DM facing stuff
There is no difficulty, it is basically a monster for the same game. How different are the monster stat blocks? I love KP's 5E monster manuals and have considered picking up their new one on that basis. But I'm not going to switch to TOTV for regular play, so I want to know how much conversion it takes to plug a TOTV monster into a 5E (2014) game.
it is a 5e variant, if your DM knows how to DM that, then they should be fine with ToV tooI have a policy of never joining a game as a player if the GM won't read the GM Guide
This is the attitude that I believe leads to bad, or at least boring, games: GMs assuming that they are so experienced they have nothing to learn.it is a 5e variant, if your DM knows how to DM that, then they should be fine with ToV too
I use ToV monsters from the Monster Vault in my mostly 2014 Tomb of Annihilation game without any problems. Monsters are tougher and tend to have additional flavourful bonus actions or reactions. How different are the monster stat blocks?
