[Sept] What are you playing?

Our almost-fortnightly D&D 3.5 continues apace. Last session was an absolute blast with (not necessarily in order of occurrence) ship-to-ship combat, pirates, old scores being settled, swashbuckling, drowning, shark attacks, sea-sickness, Wind Singing, spell-slinging, slave-freeing, pyromania, high-speed ramming and carnage. So very much carnage.

Well, I had a good time, but then I am the DM.

This week we also got to play Star Wars d20 again (yay!). A non-combat, heavy RP session that was heaps of fun. Kidnap and transport a band of uncooperative musicians for Bib Fortuna to play for the mighty Jabba? Mmmmm ... not today, my friend. Not today.

Playing in the Forgotten Realms' Unapproachable East (Aglarond/Seildeyuir) and in Ravenloft (Evil party)

Thinking about Storytelling a WoD one-shot (Or is it "short story" then?).

Playing Morrus's campaign....Highlight for me was last week: We faced the (fully buffed) Death Knight trying to 'tactically withdraw' from his castle. He turned up with a small child as a shield.

Oh NO... the return of.... BABY SHIELDS! :p

We are playing an Eberron Game currently - I got the crew curious enough to play. On temporary hiatus is Torm's low-magic campaign which we are highly enjoying, and on LONGER hiatus is a Forgotten Realms campaign that I vow we WILL return to one day!

But for the past two sessions It's been an Eberron mini-series, which I hope will highlight all the features that I think make the setting really neat.

I'm starting a campaign that bounces off Mystery Man's. Sort of "Well these heroes went to hellgate keep to get something. they defeated an incredible evil, but never returned. You have been inspired by their example to form a group of your own and get your groove on."

Something like that. :D

Although, Feng Shui is a much better game than D&D when D&D is played by the rules. I don't play D&D by the rules.:)

Currently about to start the LAST ADVENTURE (Chapter Five of Book Ten) in my homebrew OVEREARTH campaign... it's lasted 10 years, believe it or not... each year has included five chapters, each chapter being a full adventure... that's 50 adventures over the 10-year duration!

Currently have four players, although during the course of the campaign we've seen several come and go. Two players have even named their children after characters in the game...

It's been a long road, and I'm glad its finally nearing the end... my next campaign will be a more low-key, localised effort, rather than a save-the-entire-world-from-the-nasty-evil-returning-Gods. May even try some Star Wars and Modern as breaks in between.

Just started my new homebrew, Tales of New Marvarga, based on AU and Skull & Bones, it is a "New World" setting -- the Humans, Faen, Verrik and Mojh work as the Outsiders and the Giants, Litorians, and Sibeccai as the Natives. Lots of swashbuckling, lots of exploration of new vistas, and lots of going through lost cities buried in the jungle.

Rapiers, one-shot pistols, and long leather coats -- it works! ;)

Last Sunday I DM'd the final session of the "Vault of Larin Karr" from Necromancer Games. Took up the last 7 months of game time...best darn $16 I ever spent.

Taking the month off of DMing to start a new game in October. For this month my buddy is running a 3.5 Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classic...and I get to PLAY. First time I played 3.5 instead of running it! :)

Currently playing in an Exalted Game.
Running -
a/state: the characters woke up amnesiac in a canal, and things have gotten weirder. Currently, the entire group is divided against itself on opposite sides of gaping religous/corporate divides.
Eberron: Chronicles of the Reconstruction: the PCs are working for Wyrarn University, which is being secretly infiltrated and backed by the Aundair secret service. I'm still building up to the big plot, where the University launches a massive airship to explore Xen'Drik.

Starting soon: Eberron: Sharn City Watch.
