[September] What are you reading?

On my daily commute I'm reading Mistborn, and on my nightstand is Guns, Germs, and Steel. They've both been very good so far.

Yesterday I picked up the first five books of the Black Company series, plus Poul Anderson's The Winter of the World, David Drake's Lord of the Isles, and Heinlein's Starship Troopers. They all look like fun, quick reads.

Re-reading "Call of Cthulhu d20" and "Game of Thrones".

I need to find some books on Rome, specifically the invasion of Britain. Any thoughts here?

In non-fiction I finished the audio book version of "How the Mighty Fall". Very good book. If you are a business manager or business student, I urge you to read it.

Reading The Devil in the White City. The parts about HH Holmes the serial killer are far more intriguing than all the stuff about the building of the fair I'm afraid.

Also picked up Flight Vol 5. Great art; stories are meh.

Read Caesar, and the other Roman histories (Suetonius , etc.). It's always hard to beat the original sources.

I thought they were both pretty good, but I gotta agree. In the end though I thought that book was incredible. He wrote another good one called Thunderstruck. Larson is an excellent historical detective and writer about obscure but fascinating subjects. Most of his books are great. Even the Savage Dragon ones.

Hmm isn't Savage Dragon done by Erik Larsen?

Term Limits (the author is often on the sports talk radio station here, and it was at the used book store, we'll see how it is).

DMG 2 - great DMG so far.

Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie. His style is very gripping and I look forward to future publications. In my car I have the first Sookie Stackhouse novel. I started reading it after watching a few episodes of True Blood. It's pretty good as a casual read.

Currently Reading - Perdido Street Station, Red Mars, and The White Rose. Just finished Shadows Linger, The Amber Enchantress, and Foundation.
