I would say the flavour text is off, not the armour crunch. Hard to know. Could be they forgot the Property line, which may have included poison resistance 5.
Agreed. It must have had an anti-poison property that was changed later and the editors forgot to alter the flavor text. It's hardly the first time it has happened, and will not be the last.
OR
Is leather affected by a necrotic toxin in real life? Does toxin (snake venom, a spider bite, etc) need blood circulating the toxin to take effect? Maybe the scales really ARE resistant to poison damage since poison is a flat damage penalty now and the resistance does NOT go to the wearer?
