Shadow Evocation saves you 50 GP

I'm really digging the shadow evocation spell. I believe you use it to cast Continual Flame ... without having to pay the 50 GP in ruby dust required to cast the spell since it's a Shadow Continual Flame.

Is that right? Since there's no save involve, I'm not sure what the difference is between the two spells. I guess the DM could require people to make a will save to believe the flame is actually emitting light...

By the time you can cast 5th-level spells for yourself, the 50 gp is really not much of a factor. And it's not like you'd have anybody else cast a 5th-level spell for you in preference to a 2nd-level one, even if the latter had an extra 50 gp tacked on.

So, as far as I can see, knock yourself out.
