Kilana sighs and smiles at your caution. “It is no wonder you haven’t seen me before sweetling, because I just arrived here today. You are known to my masters though, and I assure you that they know more of what happened to your tribe than any one of these dusty old tomes. And perhaps most of all, what your role was in its destruction was…” she smiles sadly at you before continuing. “I am afraid that this is the extent of my knowledge of the matter. However, if you would like some questions answered, be at the Whistling Gale tomorrow, one bell before noon.” Wings flapping, she jumps up on the table and turns towards the only window in the room. “Do you have any last questions before I depart? I have such a busy schedule tonight.”

Watching her lithe form as she ascends to the window, "I have many questions to ask you but I won't keep you much longer. I would like to know who your masters are and I would like to know if they were actively involved with the destruction of my tribe as I then could prepare myself better for the meeting tomorrow."

And if they were actively involved with that incident I will seek my vengeance on them and make sure they pay for their crimes.

"My appearance is not important. What is important though is our goals – we both want to find out more about this Shadow, and restore the balance. My masters have begun gathering people like you, adventurers able to fight what is coming, and will speak to all of you tomorrow at the Whistling Gale, one hour before noon. I myself will not be able to be there, I got other tasks to see to, but my masters know you well, and would like to see your face among the gathered. My time here grow short and I must need depart, but if you have any more pressing questions, I will try to answer them as best I can before I leave…”

"My sincere apologies. If this shadow is rising, I do wish to know the face of whom I am speaking with. But I am sure there are reasons you hide it, we all have reasons to maintain the balance. Tell your masters I will see them before noon tomorrow. I must get some things prepared, and I am rather hungry. Good day."

Torsak then proceeds to go to where he is staying and double check to see if he has all of the adventuring gear he onced traveled with. Come tomorrow morning, he is going to go to the Whistling Gale first thing in the morning and get breakfast and sit around until it is time to meet this creatures "masters".

Slizz is shocked when she hears the news, mentioned so casually as though Galrus were merely a chicken. "Galrus... dead? Are you sure? How.. what... well I will definitely be at the Wishing Gate. But one thing is always true, evil has no friends," Slizz hissed, knowing that the human knew her true form. She took the rats. "On this we will feast this evening. I don't suppose you would want to try some of these. Sauteed with a hot pepper and wort sauce they are quite delectable. And who exactly do you serve?" Slizz asked, peering at the man.

"The shadow Hmm? can you tell me a littl more about them or about the group you repressn. How long will this meeting take? " Andros asks in a slightly slurred voice. turning to Bendith "Do you have a lign on any of this?" OOC: [sblock] bluff +13 innuendo to ask for an alignment check. [/sblock] "I will need to go to both meetings of course."

"The Shadow!"
"The Shadow?"
"The Shadow."

The grig snickers at your keen interest in this unknown adventure. “As you know, a Shadow is coming, and coming fast."

"I'd heard a rumour," Bendith agrees.

"My masters will do everything to fight it, and they need your expertise."

"Everything!" the pixie repeats. "Well - I'm impressed! But if they're doing everything, what's left for me to do? Give style points from the sidelines?"

"A gathering of like-minded individuals will occur here tomorrow, one bell before noon. If you are still interested, be sure to be here. Now, I am thirsty!” the small fey flies over to the bar, gets a small tankard of ale and returns. “My name is Kallenvor by the way. Nice to meet you.” He then takes out a small fiddle and start to play a jolly tune, to the enjoyment of the patrons of the tables close by.

"Well, there you go, your grumpiness," Bendith points out to his bow with some satisfaction. "A hand-lettered invitation - metaphorically speaking - to join the fight against... the Shadow."

What a nasty pack of dogs. It was their territory? Bah! You were, after all, not after a fight. All you wanted was a lonely stroll in the park, but no, not tonight. True, you could easily outsmart those mangy mongrels, make them look like pups in a box compared to you, but why even bother? You decide to head back to the Whistling Gale; hopefully Windwhistle will have something tasty for you at your return.
The city has been strange lately. Whispers and murmurs of something, a shadow, is playing in the streets. You do not know why, but somehow you feel that whatever it is in those rumours has something to do with the wiping out of your old pack. Silently contemplating what this might mean to you, you hardly notice the large, bulky woman waiting in an alley a few blocks away from the Whistling Gale. When you are about ten feet away from her, she sees you and smiles. "Oh, what a nice doggy! Who's 'e nice doggy then? Come here boy, wanna play?" As you stop and look up at this small hill of a woman, your eyes widen in shock. Where her nose is, she now has a foot-and-a-half long trunk, and she also got two foot long ivory tusks sticking out from her mouth. Her ears are HUGE! Like two big plates, just waiting to be filled with something yummy. This is no ordinary woman, but she seems nice enough, if somewhat simple.

"Hmm what have we here?" Grym thinks to himself as he warily eyes the corpulent, fleshy mass of the strange half-woman half-pachyderm "This could prove interesting, it has been a boring day and this looks like a good game". He bays at the woman and makes a bolt down the street towards the Whistling Gale. "If this game turns sour I'm going to need backup, and the closer I am to friend Windwhistle the more likely I am to get that aid" he ruminates as he runs, encouraging the woman to play a game of chase as he joyfully winds his way towards the Whistling Gale.

[sblock]before starting the game Grym will do a spot and listen as free actions trying to assess whether she may have accomplices and that it may be a trap he is about to run in to (as per the Quick Reconnoiter feat)[/sblock]

Kilana stops at your questions and eyes you for several moments before replying. “So, there is where the thorn is, is it. No, they had no part in the annihilation of your tribe. In fact, what they are fighting to destroy is the very same thing that took out your tribe. We’re on the same side sweetling. The Shadow is going to pay for what it has done.” And then she jumps out of the window, and flies away.

Slizz

Laughing merrily at your offer to prepare a delicious meal of rats, the man shakes his head. “Thank you for the offer ma’am, but I fear I do not eat rodents. Much… I am Oseric by the way. Our paths will cross again, I am sure.” With that the strange man departs, and you are left with your impending dinner.

Anderos & Bendith

“What is the Shadow? I don’t know, I only know of this creature that goes by the name of Moybau, an arch-priest of Shadow or something. My masters probably will know more though. We are few as of yet, only a handful actually. Our numbers are growing every day though, and I hope you’d like to join our cause against this sect, or whatever it is.” He pauses before eyeing you warily and continues: “The meeting will be as long as it has to be, I guess. I am sure my masters will want you to go to the other meeting as well….”

You are pretty certain that Bendith got your hint, and that the grig didn't.

The grig falls silent for a moment before answering Bendiths questions: “I don’t know what your part, or my own for that matter, will be in the coming struggle, but my masters are sure about this; they need you. For what? Ask them.” The small grig seems almost annoyed at the pixie, and forcefully resumes his playing on the fiddle.

Grymsnarl

As you start to bay and bolts away, you scan the surroundings and listens for anything out of the ordinary, but everything seems as it should be. “Oh, you want to play with Tilla! Funny dog!” the elephant-woman squeals with delight and follows, trying to capture the lithe dog. For a few minutes this game continues, Grymsnarl running, dodging and playfully hide away from the monstrous woman, but she does not relent in the game. Before you know it, you are in the alley behind the Gale, waiting for the woman to appear. She does, slowly, huffing and puffing short-breathed. “T’was fun. I like you doggy!”

Slizz looks where the man has gone. As she muses, she takes one of the rats given to her and feeds it to Zim. Glarus is dead! DEAD! She still couldn't believe it. The shadow is powerful, to destroy one such as he. I fear my tribe has just gone from one sinkhole into another... she thought. She certainly would be sure to be at the Whistling Gate the morrow. She looked around the hut, and started to pack, while putting a sign that said CLOSUED: MAKEING WARTS that always helped to turn business away. Besides, they certainly had enough rats right now. "Ah Zim our days of loafing are over..." she mused, while sipping on some swamp tadpole tea...

As you enter and quickly locate Bendith, you see that he is not alone.

OOC: Oops! I was avoiding reading other people's storylines... didn't realise I had company! :) /OOC

"Oh, hello, Anderos," Bendith greets the nobleman. "I thought that was you I saw earlier. ... gee, who died?"

While he doesn't apologise for the insensitivity of the remark, once the reason for Anderos' sombreness is explained, the pixie is at least rather more serious.

"Well, you know... it always takes time to ferret out useful information," Bendith replies. "Maybe ask me later."

OOC: Once Kallenvor goes back to his playing, Bendith will scan a Detect Evil over the tavern, focusing in on any pings to pinpoint the sources. /OOC

Grymsnarl slides to a stop 5' from the backdoor of the Whistling Gale and the apparent safety afforded by his friend. He squats on his haunches, his tongue lolling and furred tail slapping against the hard, packed earth at the back of the inn. He barks once, loudly, to let Halford, the cook know that he is about before he cocks his head quizzically to the left and stares up at the strange woman with an expectant look on his face. Any time the woman takes a step forward Grym scuttles backwards an equal measure, closer to the door, until he is left with no choice but to 'disappear' inside.

[sblock]Grym is still playing the role of a dog, he doesn't believe the woman knows his true nature and is loathe to display any of hs unique talents until he is provoked into such an action[/sblock]
