Shadows Descending - Part 1

Torsak eyes each individual as they enter the room and doesn't let the oddness of the bunch affect his thoughts. What great wisdom Trusk gave me? I must watch the Darkness and the Light for dangers? Things might not be what they seem? He is a link to the dragons himself, they say. I must heed his word.

Picking up his shield from next to his chair, Torsak stands and eyes all of those left in the room. "For those of you who want to know, I am Torsak. FOr those of you who don't want to know, my your lives not be unbalanced. I know my reasons for helping, as the balance must be kept. What of everyone else?" Torsak asks as he walks over to The Black. He doesn't wait for the groups replies before carrying on. "An old temple you say? To which false diety did the old followers pray to? And why was it abandoned?"

It was probably abandoned when the people realized the gods have abandoned them. Torsak thinks to himself as he waits for the answers.

Patiently hearing out the questions you ask, the Black smiles sadly and tries as best he can to answer. “We suspect that the thing that destroyed Galrus is the same thing that wiped out your tribe and your pack.” He faces Slizz, Siam and Grymsnarl after the revelation. “The signs are the same. Complete slaughter during the night, no traces of what did it, except a lingering shadow clinging to certain areas even in broad daylight.”

He accepts Anderos note, fold it and puts it away as he answers more of the questions. “Oseric is not a member of the clergies of Mokmael. I fear that most of the current priests and clerics of Light and Darkness have all but forgotten all about the dragons themselves, and as such draw their powers, however minor, from other sources. Oseric draws his power from the same source as the dragons themselves. I am afraid I do not know the details, but I do know that Oseric is one of the most powerful clerics of the land. However, as the shadow grows, so does the power of their clerics, and at the same time the power of the true clerics of Light and Darkness diminishes rapidly.”

As both Bendith and Torsak ask about the temple the Black shrugs uncomfortably. “I wish I knew. The temple has been there in ages. The libraries contain texts hundreds of years of who mentions the abandoned temple. Who, or what, it was built for is not noted anywhere. We can only speculate, but personally I have a feeling that the current inhabitants are the ones who should rightfully use it…”

Grymsnarl Blink Dog Rogue

Grym growls low in his throat when he hears The Black speak of his pack "If this will help me avenge my pack then you have my teeth, I will rip and tear and shred our enemies for you. I will strike from the shadows, I will have revenge. When do we leave?"

Looking at Grym & Slizz and nodding my head in approval, "If this shadow is what destroyed my tribe then I will do all in power to destroy it and rid this land of its horror. If you have any other information speak it now otherwise I also say lets leave at once."

Nodding his agreement, the Black answers. "Yes, more information is what we need. However, what we've told you so far is all that we know yet. We are hpoing that you would find out more information of these new inhabitants of the temple, even if they do not belong to the Shadow. As for the temple itself, the entrance lies in a forest glade, about three hours worth of walking, west of Mokmael itself. The temple itself is completely underground, only the entrance is above the ground."

We are prepared to give our lives in the war against the Shadow.

Yes, we will do what we can. I don't like going immediatly as a group, we are to easy to mark. Why don't those of us that are going meet outside of town - go to the first mile marker outside of the city and cut trail sign another mile. Who here is the best a woodcraft? they should get there early to blaze the trail and the rest of us should arrive at scattered times. That should defeat any watching eyes. I have some errands to run before leaving town. Perhaps we should arrange to all be there an hour before sunset? that gives us some traveling time before night.

Grym

"An hour before sunset? I am ready to go now!" the hound growls "Quickly, quickly, go about your business then. Does anyone leave now to cut the trail? If so I will come and act as your eyes and ears." Grym sniffs the air and barks "I smell vegeance in the air" he quips as he waits for a reply to his question.

"Well it might be vengeance you smell, otherwise it might be swamp gas. All right then, an hour before sunset we shall meet," says Slizz. Hopefully we can get some morerats by then. Getting out would be good. I can shed this human disguise. That dog thing does look awfully tempting. He probably tastes good with some Toad-wort sauce... and cinammon. I wonder if he has fellows...

Agreeing that an hour before sunset would be best. "I will meet you at the location an hour before sunset, I will try and find out what I can. Thank you black for what you have told us, we will make sure that balance and knowledge is found. Until tonight, may you all find balance." Torsak gathers his stuff and steps out the door

Torsak heads out the door and wanders the city for the rest of the day contemplating what he had heard during the meeting. [/sblock]
