[ShareTheLove] Hatin' Eberron?

I am in the wait and see group, I am more leaning to Iron Kingdom campaign setting (it is said to be out this month but I have heard that before). If my local store gets in Ebberron and I have not seen IKCS I more than likely will pick it up and the other will be a GENCON item.

I have some issue with Ebberron, Warforge vs rust monster (I know, I need to drop that already) and the scope of the Ebberron setting, I feel they are going to give you small bits of information for the complete world, that will lack the detail need to format a specific game, leaving holes, questions and the door open for future products.

I pre-ordered the 3.5 books 3 months in advance from Amazon and got them 2 months after they came out so no, no Amazon.

FLGS is where I buy my stuff now... or Ebay, some people are taking pre-orders on Ebay with priority mail rates...

Well, i thought about ordering it, but then i remembered that the new Dark Tower book comes out tomorrow, so... no Eberron this month.

Can someone tell me who Ebberron was created by?

The book says it is by: Keith Baker, Bill Slavicsek, James Wyatt.

Who was the person who won the competition and submitted the idea? It wasn't these 3 was it? They're well know TSR designers.

Eberron would be created by Keith Baker (who never did anything for WotC previously, but worked freelance with Goodman Games and Atlas) with the other two co-writing and doing the mechanical design.

Oh, and on the topic of the thread, for some reason I just don't like amazon very much so I don't buy from them.

I've spent my discretionary income already,
Likewise. We've got a 12 hour Stargate-SG1 paintball event coming up that was just too cool to pass up, but it makes June a one-trick pony for recreation.

I'm in the wait-and-see crowd, though. My initial response is that it's way too high on magic for my tastes, but it sounds like it is incredibly well thought out and has some incredible detail. Since I've got an irrational disdain of FR (hey, at least I know it's irrational), Eberon may be the beautifully detailed setting book that I mine to help me organize my own setting.

Or not -- I'll thumb through it at Barnes and Noble 'ere I purchase it.

I must have Keith Baker confused with someone else. I'm sure there's some other Baker that worked for WotC. I don't know?
